I manged to break the clock part of the side panel twice today! I think it's related to alt tabbing but I'm not sure... Regardless, Windows 8 is great! The Metro Screen is very customizable and one of the first things I did was remove all the tiles and instead pin things like Windows Explorer, Command Prompt, etc to it. Very usable now! Anyways, Broke Clock Pictures: i.imgur(DOT)com/rSRQU.jpg i.imgur(DOT)com/p2f6O.jpg

D-Link DWA-160 wireless USB adapter won't work on Build 8400 D-Link DWA-160 wireless USB adapter will not install properly. The D-Link programs won't run after being installed. This worked OK on Build 8250 and the WDP version as well but I can't get wireless to work on this build.
Re the Opera problem, it would be great if you went into your BIOS to see if you have EIST (it might be called SpeedStep) as well as C3/C6/C7 (might be called C States), and if you do, whether they're enabled. Disabling either one of them will work around the problem, at least in W8CP. Not that this is a solution, but this would be valuable information to confirm that the problem still exists in W8RP. Re the Intel Chipset driver, that's interesting (I realize that it doesn't apply to AMD users). Does anyone know where or what "back pages" is? I'd like to read the thread.
i have a dell pws 690 and it will not install at all . this crap is just plan junk this belongs with windows me and windows vista
Someone is able to drag and drop an image to Firefox (to upload sites like imgur.com, minus.com, etc)? Even running FF with admin right it blocks the drag. So I disabled UAC on regedit, now everything is perfect. The negative effect is that nothing works in Metro interface. A simple save Notepad text to c:/ is blocked by Win 8, even running with admin rights. This will be a totally fail when Win 8 get final release.
i disabled UAC and all metro crap working for last three hours, even after three restarts, unfortunately, that was my goal to disable that app crap
Security Problems Same old security problems. I can't even delete windows.old. I can't run BCDEDIT. I keep getting access denied. What a pain....
windows 8 frooze on me and hang. i had the same issue with CP , now with RP, what the hell! its totally random....
I have the same issue. Its random. I can right click, my mouse is moving, but i cant do anything. When i do alt+ctrl+del - menu is showing but i cant click on anything. Restart is the only way to get things back to work (Asus N53SV - i5, gt540m 2gb, 6gb ram). Sorry for my English.
That sounds exactly like the Opera 12 issue, which relates to EIST and C States (obscure CPU power-saving features enabled in the BIOS). It's very unlikely that you're both using Opera 12, but what about some other app? Will it happen when using no 3rd-party apps?
everything is running sweet with Release Preview on my Lenovo S10e with Display1_DownScalingSupported in the registry and replace dword value to 1
