    I agree... it's basically a mindset change for most people - firstly to forget windows operations, then to not think of the old way of Linux (as commandline driven)...

    Easier to use Synaptics, Software Manager etc... commands are used more than in windows, but it still is not the main operating method.

    If you have a good idea about kernel/driver compatibility, then by all means install those, otherwise stick with the distributed stuff...

    Latest Level 1 (mint-meta-core) update contains a grub-2 update - thus if if you have Burg installed it will prompt to overwrite it - you can accept as Burg is compatible with this update - just run ...

    sudo burg-install "(hd0)"
    (obviously select whichever partition you have boot installed)

    the graphic is really terrible. i gave up almost instantly when using liveCD

    LiveCD has generic drivers... you need to install so that it can download the correct graphics drivers for you.

    Almost Linux OS take all that need from the Internet during the installation.:eek:That is the reason for Linux to be connected from the installation begining.

    KDE RC has been approved... takes usually a day or two for the ISO's to be sent to repo's...:biggrin:


    BTW: Regarding StarkMenu not working with Cinnamon 2.4, a good alternative is Configurable Menu (available from applets repo.) - it has a bunch of menu themes and other config. options.

    Is coming!

    Only still be KDE 4.14 ... More stable... :)

    KDE 5.1 in future versions ...

    Note: Neither the Fedora 21 adopted kde 5 plasma.

    I have now LM17.1 KDE nstalled;That Plasma 5 is available in Manjaro KDE 0.9.0
