Canary is a channel where all sorts of different things are tested before the version will selected what will go to developers, and it's perfectly normal that many of them don't work properly. Canary isn't even the developer's version, so why should you install it on your computer and even more - want to it works perfectly. 99.999% of Canary versions never even reach the developers' desktop. Why does it have to reach your computer? It's not even for developers, it's the very first billet from which in future something may be done but usually less than 1% such a versions goes to developers.
How can I update my edge online as I am not the admin so can not install it after downloading the setup file, it is asking for admin username and pass
You need to talk to an administrator or someone with administrator privileges. The administrator or user in administrator privileges can give you this right, ie the administrator does not have to give you all the rights, but only limited rights (for example update Edge, Chrome, Firefox etc), and then you can perform the allowed actions.
If you think so, then there is nothing you can do but wait for your computer administrator will do it. However, you can use any browser, including Edge, as a portable device at any time. Then you have no obstacles to upgrade it if you want. So. if You want, download latest version offline package and extract it where ever You want. Now, if You start use it, it will use Your current User Data or You can make new and at all different user data folder.
Can also confirm, since MS Edge Team released a newer build today for CANARY, if you download and install over your existing CANARY version (Make Sure It's Closed Out First!!!), your Updates page will be fixed.
The latest stable version has no options to force New Tabs to use about:blank. You can set about:blank as StartUp page, but cannot do that for new tabs... It also forces you to use Bing on new tab pages...
Make your own blank page and set it what to open as new tab or use extension. But it's so interesting, why would somebody need to open blank page. Can you tell me..
Anyone also able to crash their Canary v84.0.488.0 by right-clicking/holding the Back button (when it's active)? I've already sent the bug report via feedback.
Ya you are right, but I do not find any problem in using bing, is it not good as google? But really a great work by microsoft, a very bice browser they have made
It is just a preference. I would settle for a new tab opening Google or DuckDuckGo or just about anything other than MS Bing...
