No, I will continue writing about the topic of this thread, Chromium based Edge, that is what I have done in all my comments and what I will continue to do, goodbye and I wish you good luck too
I keep my Edgium portable off the OS-partition (drive C) and most of what you said actually makes no difference. My Edgium User Data and Default folders (drive D) never change content, they both stay on a non-OS drive (D), but what is being detected out of those folders does depend on whether OS build was changed or not. I think it is due to Chrome/Edgium's content being encrypted. AFAIK, Chrome specifically made User Data / Default folders encrypted to prevent copy/paste of data from one PC to another. If I restore backup of Win10 build 1809 from build 1809 (all on partition C), all is good, all is preserved (file-wise and functionality-wise), but if I change build 1809 to build 1903, I'd have to re-download all extensions and change some settings. All-in-all, it would be nice for MS to finally introduce MS Account login feature for info preservation.
I don't know if there's an encryption issue with the DEFAULT folder or not... But it worked for me, on multiple systems... And others have stated here that it worked for them as well. It could be the fact your using a program thats intended to be installed on a system and not turned into a non-Microsoft supported/created portable app. Is your secondary drive (Drive D) encrypted with BitLocker or any other encryption technology??? If it is, maybe their lies your problem or maybe some of the data in your DEFAULT folder doesn't get transferred over properly because of the encryption on that drive... if it is using BitLocker. It would be nice if you tried the original method i stated earlier on a non-portable version of the app and see if that works first... If i recall, didn't you try this once before (page 7-15) on the form here previously and screwed up because you copied the whole DATA folder over a clean install instead of just copying/overwriting ONLY the DEFAULT folder only??? Like i said before, it has worked for me, on multiple computers and even using my DEFAULT folder which is from Canary into the Dev build without any issues... Keep in mind that Edgeium is properly installed on each computer as Microsoft intended it to be tested and not using a build which was converted into a portable app. PS... After reading your response earlier a couple more times, I haven't tested my Default folder on a different OS builds 1703-1803 (all my testing has been on 1903) and even the other computers I tested it on was 1903. Someone a couple responses above also mentioned having settings not appear or show up on Windows 10 Insider Build 18885, so maybe there are functions and/or settings that are only available per each version of Windows 10 going forward. I can see people on Windows 7 having issues with Edgeium features like SmartScreen, New Application Guard Window which are features that are embedded within Windows 10 & Windows Security along with Hyper-V as well. Our DEFAULT folder still shouldn't have any issues being dumped ontop of an installed version and your data properly showing up when you open the browser, but now with some of the others feedback here, I can see certain settings not being available depending on the Operating System when using the browser with your DEFAULT folder, like certain settings which require Hyper-V, and Microsoft SmartScreen which showed up in Windows 8. Windows 7 never received Edge and never received Windows Security and were stuck using Windows Security Essentials which didn't have SmartScreen capability which Edge needed for it's security.
Hi there, Is there any working solution to get rid of message „Administrator Mode Detected” each time is strart Edge Cabary? Also if i do not put --ignore-certificate-errors on edge launch icon -> target i'm not able to reach any google site (i mean gmail, google, etc) because certificate invalid (the date is OK because the Chrome and FF are OK. Thank you in advance.

Has anyone else noticed this: I mean, if it's normal that's all fine and dandy, and yes it was letting me know there was an update available which is fine and dandy too, just never noticed it before. Even with my part-time Chrome usage (portable) I've never seen that so, it's kinda cool I suppose. I check several times a day for potential updates on the Canary builds anyway but if it tells me when one is available, even better.
can anyone tell me, in these "newer" daily releases I am finding no way to change "multiple raster threads" and I cant find it under flags anymore, any ideas?
But could you explain why it should be there? This test was indeed Google Chromes in 2015 and it is now a distant history.
sure, I am running a dual core low end machine, everything seems good, but under edge gpu info, it states multiple raster threads disabled, using 1 thread only!! on my higher end machine this was enabled and I have no such issue
Me too... Thought maybe a bug, until it happened on all my other computers as well. It's hard to see other tabs opened when using Dark Mode. Hopefully this will get fixed, old visual was so much better. I just left FEEDBACK to Edgeium support letting them know. I highly suggest others who do not like the color scheme change to do the same.
I think we should come to some agreement on the nickname for this offshoot: I personally have been calling it "Edgium" for some time now, while others (like the post above call it "Edgeium" and for some reason that second "e" in it just ruins it. Edgium makes sense, like Chromium does. No second "e" - it's not called "Chromeium" after all. Can't do a poll mid-thread, sadly, but my vote is Edgium - plain, simple, and based on Chromium itself just as the actual browser is. <yes this post was meant to be in jest and light-hearted, so don't turn it or any replies into some flame-fest, OK?>
