You folks DO realize it's in development, yes? I mean, some flickering UI issues, that's way back on the priority list I'm sure, and if people have filed feedback reports about it - and I know for a fact that's been done several thousand times - then there is honestly no reason to just keep rehashing and harping on that aspect, or some of the other tiny issues as well. I've been using Edgium since the first leak, in the same folder, all the way to the Canary 160 that I just updated to and I have not seen any such issues myself, there could be a whole bunch of reasons for such issues (video drivers, UI issues in the OS itself, etc), literally dozens upon dozens that aren't necessarily the browser itself. YouTube loads incredibly fast, starts playing incredibly fast, I haven't had one crash, not one issue worth even caring about so far. Bewilders me to no end how some folks just have sooooooooooooo many problems with this thing, it really does.
It's actually rather smooth and stable for being a pre-release of a very incomplete product (probably in part due to solid Chromium base). Other than lack of compact mode for the toolbar/address GUI - like Firefox's compact mode would be perfect! - I could live comfortably in this mofo. Really solid stuff so far.
I mean if people are going to comment that a new build is out every single day people might as well confirm whether or not bugs affecting the readers of this thread are still present. Whats the point of this thread otherwise? might as well just close this thread and have everyone follow the edge insider page.
apparently on one of these more recent builds they fixed the video issue with hbo/netflix/amazon type streams, you no longer have to use --disable-gpu-driver-bug-workarounds
but its for security reasons... check inside: Settings -> Privacy and services -> Microsoft Defender SmartScreen.
Has anyone moved an installation of Edgium to a new install of the OS without issues? I'm going to be redoing my machine today (reinstalling LTSC 2019, and yes I have a legit license from doing some remote sessions for a company I contract with for such purposes) but since the full sync functionality of Edgium isn't working so far (just bookmarks) I'd like to not have to start totally completely clean. I attempted to do this a few weeks ago in a VM and even though I copied basically everything over that I could track down, the folders, config settings, Registry settings, etc, when I first fired up Edgium on the new install (in a VM) the extensions weren't there, basically it was literally a fresh start except for the bookmarks but those got put back where they should be by the sync functionality. I mean I can and will start over yet again if needed but it would be nice to just move it all over without such a need. Just curious if anyone else has done this with actual success. And for the record I only use the Canary builds which are now up to 162 as of earlier, noted in the post above. Thanks...
