From much of my testing, the underlying browser rendering between both Chrome/Chromium and this new Edge seems to load web pages quite equally as far as performance and efficiency go. However, my biggest gripe currently about this new Edge is that the performance and efficiency of the actual user interface and user experience (UI / UX) is quite sluggish in comparison to the UI/UX of Chrome/Chromium. I believe that the Microsoft engineers specifically working on UI/UX are throwing so much lipstick on this pig (so to speak) and, possibly not doing so in such an efficient method, that the interface itself is just sluggish in comparison. While the underlying web page rendering is quite equal in comparison, having a sluggish interface really bothers me and hinders my experience with it. I'm a Chromium user since Chrome 1.0 beta days. So the fact that Edge has switched over to Chromium source code as a base is something that I respect and has piqued my interests and I have a particular interest in the security aspects of Chromium based browsers. I actually find the user interface of this new Edge to be quite nice and a good user experience in general, if not for the sluggish performance of the actual interface itself. Regardless, this new Edge has captured my curiosity and being that it is based on Chromium I will continue following development closely. But I will continue using Chromium as my default browser because the UI is still like 10x snappier.
Since you have such a great way of writing things out... I hope you submit your feedback to Edge Team. I do everytime I find issues/bugs and they actually respond unlike the Windows Insider Program via there feedback app (which they still cherry pick issues via algorithm) and with absolutely no feedback to responses other then through their Insiders Blog.
I wonder if this auto de-elevate feature will also work on the built-in administrator account. -andy-
Is it me or did they change the folders' colour in the latest Canary build? They turned yellow. Can't remember what colour they used to be, probably grey but it's one of those little things that can go unnoticed. xd
