New installs/downloads are always from currently active version 2102 branch. It's possible to download/install older builds from 2102 branch -no problem-, but a setup from 'Version 2008' must be different (maybe only in configuration/registry but maybe in files, too..) Office-Update checks branch, files, distribution-/update-channel, configuration and loads updates matching this scenario. On new installs this will always be latest Office build from 'Version 2102' branch.

Not officially (officially released on October 5, 2021). But licensing has been around for months. (Note: Office 2016 and Office 2019 and Office 2021 use the same files, only the installed licenses differ.)
I have few questions. Could you please answer them: 1. does Office 2021 has OneNote 2021 (offline app)? (with Office 2019 it is OneNote 2016 only) 2. Office 365 will be converted to Mondo? (when we try to activate Office 365). 3. Is Mondo at Mondo 2016? I mean is Mondo 2016 at par with Office 2019/Office 2021 in features?
I have installed LTSC Office 2021. OneNote 2021 is included. Could someone please tell me: 1. is LTSC any less than the regular version? Unstable? Will it get any future feature/security updates? 2. New Office icons are not showing up. 3. @Krakatoa : I used OfficeRT Tool what does 'perpetual' mean in its options?
1. LTSC = Long-Term Servicing Channel 3. Perpetual is probably channel name: 5030841d-c919-4594-8d2d-84ae4f96e58e = Production::LTSC2021 = Office 2021 Perpetual Enterprise Channel = PerpetualVL2021
Just one more confusion : is LTSC version any less/unstable than regular Office? Will it get future updates/security? (for example : Office 2021 vs Office 2021 LTSC)
LTSC is just branding for Office 2021 Volume SKU, the features will be the same it's unclear if they will create specific build range for official channel Perpetual2021 (like Office Perpetual2019)
1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Mondo 2016 is Office 365 (Mondo SKU + Office 365 Retail licenses/Grace key + Mondo VL licenses). It's ahead of office 2021 and it has the most feature set of all offices. Don't get fooled by "2016" in the name.
