I have Office 2019 installed and attempted to install 2021. It goes through the install process and says it has installed, but when I run an app, it shows 2019 on the splash screen. Is that normal?
It may be a bit offtopic, but I will ask it here. On a w10 laptop (with an ms account), I completely removed the preinstalled office suite with scrubber to replace it with a regular version, i.e. 2019. I downloaded the online installer found in mas's site, the one for the standard version of office. Oddly, it installed word, excel and outlook and showed up as office 2019 PERSONAL under add remove programs. Activating it with mas did not work at all, it even shows as 5 days trial under that status function. What am I doing wrong? The user in question uses word most of the time, rarely uses excel and even more rarely powerpoint, thus I thought the standard version is good enough for him.
I don’t know what might have gone wrong, but they have excellent support for mas in the discord channel.
Yes, this is completely normal because you haven't uninstalled the previous version before installing the newer version. Before installing any other version, the previous one must be completely removed, including the registry data.
It is linked at at the OP of the Office 2021 thread, that's as much pinning that can be done without creating a separate OP, on MDL.
@Enthousiast and others The index by @abbodi1406 is, in fact, mentioned in the first post of this thread as well, but it might be a bit difficult to spot it.
