I did NOT uninstall 2016;VL I upgraded from it. (2016 VL->2019 retail via normal install; 2019 retail >2019 VL via conversion; 2019 VL licensing via internal KMS.) Basically, I used the identical procedure I used to move from 2013 VL to 2016 VL - the reason WHY it works is because there was no bitness change (both were x64). What doesn't get imported (for understandable reasons) was the licensing scheme (complete difference between retail and VL); however, other than licensing, there is no reason why other settings can't be imported when the bitness doesn't change; in my case, it didn't.
Actually, that is not unusual at all - it is why upgrades (same bitness and SKU) have worked in Office going all the way back to the first x64 SKU of Office (and before that with all x32 SKUs of Office) - it eliminates the need to uninstall the previous version. (Where it does NOT work is when you are changing from 20xx to 365, bitness changes, 365 to 20xx. With the first and the last is due to SKU licensing schema; 20xx and 365 license differently - it is why I did NOT change to 365 - I have no license for it, nor could I get one.) C2R updates likely use OO (Office Online) as all of Office has since 2010. (I used OO to keep 2016 VL updated.)
Hi there, could someone of you explain me how to NOT install the new Office 2019 iin C: choosing my programs directory? Have I to tweak the Windows registry for so I can install it in P: (Programs) without even choosing the path? Thanks for the reply. For the activation I saw, I think, I thread on here; if so I´ll look at it, otherwise I´ll ask over here. Regards,
What am I doing wrong? This is my configuration xml: Code: <Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="PerpetualVL2019"> <Product ID="ProPlus2019Volume"> <Language ID="pl-PL"/> <ExcludeApp ID="Lync"/> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove"/> <ExcludeApp ID="Access"/> <ExcludeApp ID="OneNote"/> <ExcludeApp ID="Outlook"/> </Product> <Product ID="ProofingTools"> <Language ID="pl-PL" /> </Product> </Add> </Configuration> Unfortunately Office 2016 is installed. What's wrong? I uninstalled my previous Office 2016, tried to use official Office Removal Tool too.
Proofing Tools is not needed if you have included the same language UI for the Office Suite installation.
There is no OneNote 2019, 2016 is the latest and included with Office 2019 as-is Some says that New UI is for Office 365 only you can use scrub vbs script to remove Office completely, reboot then try again https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/abbodi1406s-batch-scripts-repo.74197/page-22#post-1461863 C2R source is the same for all, require nearly 2 GB for x86 Office 2019 and 2016 share same feature base, including UI Office 365 - 2016 - 2019 are all derived from same sources, which is Office16 based location only different SKUs and licensing features You cannot, C2R installation location is not customizable Yes
