The only way to get the "Volume" edition is to follow Post #1 there is no serperate files/ISO/IMG for "Volume". Yes "Retail" and "Volume" are the same files just different license activation
TX Hi, tx for replying. It's 01:36 A.M. and my neurons are quite burned to do so right now, so I will leave it for the late morning. Common Files on Windows 10 always have been left on C:\ as per the Users and Program Data folders, but if you say I can move them too I'm quite interested in. Just let me do one step a time: too much infos at the same time disorient me. By now it's the turn of Office, then I'll check the remain. Yours and good nite (2 me).
I may not have explained what I was talking about correctly so here goes: When a new build is released and you run "setup.exe /download configuration.xml" it will download the ENTIRE file library for that new build, so here are the versions of Office 2019 released to date: Spoiler: Office 2019 Version History 2018-09-27 16.0.10827.20138 2018-09-24 16.0.10730.20127 2018-09-09 16.0.10730.20102 Now since the GA release of 16.0.10730.20102 I have run "setup.exe /download configuration.xml" to download to my local "repo", here is what my "repo" looks like as of today: Spoiler: 10730.20102 C:. | ProPlus2019Retail-Current.cmd | ProPlus2019Retail-Current.xml | setup.exe | \---Office \---Data | v64.cab | v64_16.0.10730.20102.cab | \---16.0.10730.20102 i320.cab i321033.cab i640.cab i641033.cab s320.cab s321033.cab s640.cab s641033.cab stream.x64.en-us.dat stream.x64.en-US.dat.cobra stream.x64.x-none.dat stream.x64.x-none.dat.cobra Spoiler: 10730.20102 + 10730.20127 C:. | ProPlus2019Retail-Current.cmd | ProPlus2019Retail-Current.xml | setup.exe | \---Office \---Data | v64.cab | v64_16.0.10730.20102.cab | v64_16.0.10730.20127.cab | +---16.0.10730.20102 | i320.cab | i321033.cab | i640.cab | i641033.cab | s320.cab | s321033.cab | s640.cab | s641033.cab | stream.x64.en-us.dat | stream.x64.en-US.dat.cobra | stream.x64.x-none.dat | stream.x64.x-none.dat.cobra | \---16.0.10730.20127 i320.cab i321033.cab i640.cab i641033.cab s320.cab s321033.cab s640.cab s641033.cab stream.x64.en-us.dat stream.x64.en-US.dat.cobra stream.x64.x-none.dat stream.x64.x-none.dat.cobra And Currently: Spoiler: 10730.20102 + 10730.20127 + 10827.20138 C:. | ProPlus2019Retail-Current.cmd | ProPlus2019Retail-Current.xml | setup.exe | \---Office \---Data | v64.cab | v64_16.0.10730.20102.cab | v64_16.0.10730.20127.cab | v64_16.0.10827.20138.cab | +---16.0.10730.20102 | i320.cab | i321033.cab | i640.cab | i641033.cab | s320.cab | s321033.cab | s640.cab | s641033.cab | stream.x64.en-us.dat | stream.x64.en-US.dat.cobra | stream.x64.x-none.dat | stream.x64.x-none.dat.cobra | +---16.0.10730.20127 | i320.cab | i321033.cab | i640.cab | i641033.cab | s320.cab | s321033.cab | s640.cab | s641033.cab | stream.x64.en-us.dat | stream.x64.en-US.dat.cobra | stream.x64.x-none.dat | stream.x64.x-none.dat.cobra | \---16.0.10827.20138 i320.cab i321033.cab i640.cab i641033.cab s320.cab s321033.cab s640.cab s641033.cab stream.x64.en-US.dat stream.x64.en-US.dat.cobra stream.x64.x-none.dat stream.x64.x-none.dat.cobra Okay I understand that it just appends the downloaded files and replaces the "v64.cab" with the latest version, this is done so that "locally" when you run "setup.exe /configure configuration.xml" it will read "v64.cab" and know "16.0.10827.20138" is the latest and install that version. It also gives you the ability to go back and install a previous version if you wanted to using the "Version=" setting in XML. This is what the MS Office CDN servers look like. What I was talking about was MS including the ability to have a SFV, zsync, delta version of lets say "16.0.10730.20102" to "16.0.10730.20127", then "16.0.10730.20127" to "16.0.10827.20138" or just using "16.0.10730.20102" as the base and doing a delta to "16.0.10827.20138" (This is probably not be best choice since each time the file would be cumulative and keep growing in size) but a delta from previous build to current would be better, that way I dont have to re-download 2GB+ each time a new build is released for each architectures. Same way we do SFV for Windows ISO builds Interesting twist/reversal of normal MS, looking at the sizes of my stream files since release they have gotton smaller not larger Spoiler: Stream File Sizes 16.0.10730.20102: stream.x64.en-us.dat 359 MB (377,169,072 bytes) stream.x64.x-none.dat 2.39 GB (2,574,212,992 bytes) 16.0.10730.20127: stream.x64.en-us.dat 273 MB (286,392,729 bytes) stream.x64.x-none.dat 1.85 GB (1,995,449,819 bytes) 16.0.10827.20138: stream.x64.en-us.dat 267 MB (280,762,287 bytes) stream.x64.x-none.dat 1.83 GB (1,972,561,850 bytes)
So default installation of img files provided by MS will go on Monthly channel, which is not feature frozen and updates each month??
"Office 2019" in general is feature frozen, only security and fixes from now on, Does'nt matter which version is installed using IMG/ODT A "Office 365 Subscription" will get you the "Latest and Greatest" now and in the future. Now techincally from my testing "ProPlus2019Retail" defaults to the same "Channel" as "O365ProPlusRetail" but as to whether it would get new features I cannot say for certain right now. Also there may be another value/setting that is applied that determins if it's really "Office 365" vs "Office 2019" if anybody knows let me know I have all my testing install logs I can look through and see any other values/settings exist that it may be validating Anybody know of any new "Features" we could validate and see if they appear?
So when we download from Monthly channel, depend on what config we use after download, we get two different products
It may have something to do with the “Licensing Differences” I mentioned here https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/discussion-microsoft-office-2019.75232/page-35#post-1466545 Maybe the “validation “ it does on “Office 365” servers sets “something” that enables “Office 365” functionality
I tried, the 2nd line with xml works The double click one do not read the xml and install only the standard one without visio/project Many thanks
For some reason, Outlook takes a very long time to load profile after activation !! I use a remote KMS. Update: Solved, Deleted the profile and recreated, all is fine. Also, I had the below issue when attempting to activate using remote KMS: Installed product key detected - attempting to activate the following product: SKU ID: 52c4d79f-6e1a-45b7-b479-36b666e0a2f8 LICENSE NAME: Office 19, Office19ProPlus2019R_Grace edition LICENSE DESCRIPTION: Office 19, RETAIL(Grace) channel Last 5 characters of installed product key: 8MBCX ERROR CODE: 0xC004F017 ERROR DESCRIPTION: The Software Licensing Service reported that the license is not installed. In case some faces this issue, I converted from Retail to Volume again, and reactivated. I am not sure if this has happened during the first conversion from Retail to Volume or after attempting to change the update channel (which crashed)
Nope they don't already tried after I posted , did a fresh install with no R2V conversion, but the option was still not there.
abbodi1406 answered to post of mine, that you must click "sign-in", but then don't continue/abort. After this "trick", for example the "Insights" feature in Excel appeared. Maybe this works with the Equation option, too.
Hi ratzlefatz, Can you check if the U option is working in the tool. It is crashing on me, i have reported it in post #688 of this thread.
hi i need help if possibile. I have already downloaded the ProPlus2019Retail.img file, and made an XML file to exclude some Apps. <Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="Current"> <Product ID="ProPlus2019Retail"> <Language ID="it-it" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove"/> <ExcludeApp ID="Lync"/> <ExcludeApp ID="Outlook"/> <ExcludeApp ID="Skype for Business"/> </Product> </Add> <Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" /> <Logging Level="Standard" Path="%Temp%"/> <RemoveMSI All="True" /> <Updates Enabled="TRUE"/> </Configuration> How can install from the img and xml file? Thanks.
Don't do that, after installing O365ProPlus convert it to volume before opening any app and you may use free Microsoft account to get some extra features working other than that, there is no way to get all crown jewel features without actual O365 subscription license/account
yes, xml only works with ODT setup.exe SKU setups already have integrated Product ID and Language, without ability to exclude any app or set any option
