Will there ever be a slim or portable version of MS Office? Why can't it be more like Open Office in regards to installation?
Hi guys, I don't want to install OneDrive, how can I do it? I uset the Office RT Tool but even with single apps install, OneDrive gets installed.. Thanks!
Currently a bug in OfficeRTool. The following both lines must exist in configuration.xml file to suppress OneDrive installation: <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" /> <ExcludeApp ID="OneDrive" /> First line "Groove" supresses install of "OneDrive for Business". Second line suppresses install of standard "OneDrive" client.
If you want to do it manualy by yourself, then look here -> https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/how-do-i-manually-disable-telemetry-for-office-2016.68842/. Or use (T) DISABLE ACQUISITION AND SENDING OF TELEMETRY DATA option in OfficeRTool. This does the same.
MS made no major / revolutionary changes from 2016 to 2019. So the telemetry modifications for 2016 should work in 2019, too.
Office 2010 Office 2010 was the first release where Office offered both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The 32-bit version is Office is installed automatically. However, the version that’s right for you depends on how you plan to use Office. If you have specific add-ins that you use in the 32-bit version of Office, they might not work in 64-bit Office and vice versa. Office 2013 There are two versions of Office 2013 available for installation, 32-bit and 64-bit. We recommend the 32-bit version of Office for most users, because it’s more compatible with most other applications, especially 3rd-party add-ins. However, consider the 64-bit version, especially if you're working with large blocks of information or graphics. Office 2016 The 32-bit version of Office is automatically installed unless you explicitly select the 64-bit version before beginning the installation process. Office 2019 The 64-bit version of Office is automatically installed unless you explicitly select the 32-bit version before before beginning the installation process. really microsoft !! now pushing the 64bit version by default, even still the same reasons say that most users better use x86 version Reasons to choose the 64-bit version: You’re working with large data sets You’re working with extremely large pictures, videos, or animations in PowerPoint. You’re working with files over 2 GB in Project, You’re developing in-house Office solutions You’re working with the Large Number data type in Access
