@ratzlefatz: I didn't modified or used OfficeRTool to get updates on Project 2019 under Windows 8.1. Instead I used a different approach with some tweaks, similar to Office 2019.
Sorry for the confusion. My post was meant for @MUKESH who reported the error. I want to see, what is configured on his system as: Distribution-Channel? CDNBase-Url? Updates-Channel? Updates-Url? Group-Policy defined UpdateBranch?
is there any major diference beside a more granullar detail in selcting what i can install or not or how etc etc.. from just runing the installer from the iso or using any of the tools listed here
When I look at your About-Info from Project, I see that Project already lists as version 1809, build 16.10827.20150. This is newest version. So there is nothing new to update to.
The first image shows that the build is 10730.20127. The second image is after i updated the office application.yes, 10827.20150 is the latest build. As you requested i have provided the other required details in the post 1106 above.
The "double" entries of 2x Office, 2x Visio and 2x Project in your screenshots show, that two different configurations exist. This may come from a partial (un)install. I suggest to clean your mixed/messed up config with FixIt-Tool and then install Office and Visio/Project again.
No. the OS's i did everything on were fresh and clean. (i mean i used totally new installations of the respective OS's to do everything on it).
hhmm, surely something has gone wrong. The only case I got double entries in listing was an install without proper cleaning after I removed an existing older Office. Anyone else out there with a clue?
@MUKESH can you post the reg Code: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\Configuration
There's one thing though. What i do a lot of times is that i use the same "OfficeRTool folder" for doing multiple installations not on the same OS's but on new ones each and every time. i don't know if this matters or not.
Double entries indeed happen due to leftover files and could be rectified with a complete uninstall and then re-install. Just a little insignificant note for you sir (@ratzlefatz): In Windows 7, 8(.1), you can't update Office/Visio/Project 2019, if you install them with the Product ID "ProPlus2019Retail" or "VisoPro2019Retail" or "ProjectPro2019Retail", respectively, and in order to get the updates working you need to install them with the product ID "ProPlusRetail" or "VisioProRetail" or "ProjectProRetail", respectively. Later, install Office/Viso/Project 2019 Volume license files to enable/activate the new features of Office/Visio/Project 2019. Microsoft's "Office Deployment Tool" could be used to do the same.
