Yeah, abbodi pointed it out in previous posts that 2019 can't get updates on 8.1 and older and his work around to get the best of 2019 is the best. I guess @abbodi1406 should create a smart C2R office installer script (based on officeclicktorun.exe method ?) in which script tells what is recommended but still gives users the choice what they wan to install. it would be a wonderful project. Just to be clear, i suppose O365ProPlusRetail can also be installed using proplus2019retail.img
just tested, office tool plus and odt both can install O365ProPlusRetail in windows 7 from proplus2019retail.img. this is the config. <Configuration> <Add OfficeClientEdition="32" SourcePath="G:\"> <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail"> <Language ID="en-us" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Outlook" /> <ExcludeApp ID="OneNote" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Access" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Publisher" /> <ExcludeApp ID="OneDrive" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" /> <ExcludeApp ID="Lync" /> </Product> </Add> </Configuration>
Of course they can, through product ID tweak. You will need O365 setup files for this method: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/discussion-microsoft-office-2019.75232/page-61#post-1473538
Do you know if I can use a legit key for Office 2019 Pro Plus ( from microsoft partner) , to activate a switched version to month channel ( office 365 build ) ?
Is there a non-C2R version of Office for Office 2019? Or did Microsoft kill off the non-C2R version with 2019?
Well that sucks. Thanks for info. At least it saves me from wasting time trying to hunt down something that doesn't exist.
I did download Office 2019 ProPlus VL with Office Deployment Tool (I have scrubbed everything), so I did not have to convert my Office license from Retail to Volume, but manual update button still appears when I go to File -> Account, and unlike 2016 VL version, Office 2019 VL does not update via Windows Update, it seems it uses some different service to do that. I am on build 10337.20021 and I am not even sure if that's latest, I don't even know when it updates since there's no history on Windows Update anymore. It also seems I did not get the new interface that 365 does. This is all quite confusing.
Is there much difference between Office 2016 and Office 2019. I am performance, ease of use, features for a basic user. I am currently on Office 2016, is it worth a try ? Can you please tell me the notable features in Office 2019 in comparison with Office 2016 ?. Thanks
