Agree. but one problem i noticed with conversion is that, token rebuilding process (including restart) seems to corrupt office license and office can not repair itself. (may need to do token rebuilding twice or more to reproduce the error) to fix it, user needs to run the converter again. but if office is directly installed as VL in that case office can repair itself after token rebuilding. (Tested this twice separately)
OK, agree. This can happen in some system configurations. Especially when Windows 10 Insider versions are used. But you already wrote what to do: = So one just has to redo Retail2VL conversion/KMS activation again after tokens.dat rebuild to reinitialize Office license.
i heard that office 2019 could now be installed on win7 machines too. Is that true or just a rumor ? Nevermind : i found the answer by reading back the previous posts and it is apparently possible to install it on win7 machines as well as win8.1 by using a special tool called "Deploy-N-Install App" by @sidjames45.

Speaking for myself, I get enough breakage from MS's sloppy OS updates ATM. I need productive Office, not their feature "improvements" (such as the childish cartoon icons).
Oh, yes. sidjames45's Deploy-N-Install App could install Office 2019 on Windows 7 SP1 64bit OS as I did it. But in my case only ProjectPro2019Volume is giving a nag "License has been changed" everytime I launch it. I am earnestly looking forward to get rid of this nag.
I don't know why I cannot use the "trick" I used before... I downloaded the Office 2019 Retail, then installed using ODT with: setup /configure myconf.xml, then activated VL with abbodi's tool. Now when I launch the setup only the "Usage" windows is displayed instead of the real setup. I checked the command, I checked the xml configuration, and all is ok... what's the problem?
Personnaly i couldn't activate home student edition with any KMS solution and the License to VL conversion
Afaik, all "Home and...." editions lack the VL channel, so they can't be converted to VL and won't activate by KMS.
The site says try free for 1 month but then you have to add a payment method. Is their any other way to download Office 2019?
