Hi, just update to my issue, at last it solved. It was because build version 9126.2336 is problematic on activation. I also realize had mistakenly saying PerpetualVL2019 (update channel) is the same term as ProPlus2019Retail (product ID). Sorry about that.

I still don't understand why one can use different update channel for ProPlus2019Retail although it is officially stated that "PerpetualVL2019 is the only supported update channel for Office Professional Plus 2019 and Office Standard". Would anyone mind tell me why, is it okay to use not officially suppported update channel? Thanks in advance

 

i have installed office 2019 and activated via KMS , but i have an option to install office 365 latest version free from microsoft too..

so now i am confused which one to use?

 

Can anyone on Windows 7 x64 who installed Office 2019 confirm if the microsoft office updates can be downloaded from windows update or this is possible only on win 10?
If not, can you download them and get them from the MS website and install them?

 

Office 2019 doesn't get its updates through Windows Update, not even on Windows 10. You update from within an office app itself.

I've been using OfficeRTool to do an offline update for computers that have slow internet, but it sometimes results in default app issues where Word, Outlook, etc. don't show up as an app in the list to even set a default app for a file type (or worse the MAILTO: feature for Outlook where you can't set it as the preferred Mail app). When that happens I have to do a full uninstall of Office 2019, reboot, and reinstall to get the default app feature to work again. Both 1803 and 1809 have this issue on occasion, so the online update inside one of the apps is safer if you have fast enough internet.

 

Has anyone been able to get 16.0.11126.20188 to install on Win7 x64 with YAOCTRI or OfficeRTool? I've read every post I can find on how to get it to work and I either get an error or it just hangs during install with no progress and no CPU activity. This is with 2016, 2019, 365, and both volume and retail. If you were successful, what steps did you take?

I downloaded ProPlus2019Retail.img from a link on this site and and used YAOCTRI and KMS_VL_ALL to install and activate. Worked like a charm, so a big thanks to abbodi1406.

I installed Single Apps individually (Word, Excel, Power Point and OneNote). If in the future I want to add let's say Publisher, Do I just run YAOCTRI again and select just Publisher?

 

I was going to use ODT. I assume it will ask me what I want and create the XML or is there something I have to do to create it?

Is it better or easier to use any of the tools on the first page instead of ODT? If so, which one do you recommend?
Does ODT install VL or does every tool/method install RETAIL and I have to do step 2 and 3 to convert and activate?

The instructions for the EXE files say they work like ODT but also says they can be used with an IMG or files DLed with ODT or C2R by placing it in the correct folder and executing.
Does it working like ODT mean I can double click the EXE on my desktop and it will download the files from the Internet (to where on my computer) and install them?

I want to do an online install to get the latest Apps. I want Office Pro Plus with Project Pro and Visio Pro. I want everything except maybe Skype and Telemetry. I don't want anything that spies on me or reports back to MS if possible.

In addition to an online install, I want a disc or discs for my software library and for when an Internet connection isn't an option.

I used a Windows 7 Pro SP1 CD (from Media Creation Tool) that I fully updated using abbodi1406's WHD-W7UI_4.8 script. I had all the .NET and Visual C++ runtimes installed before attempting Office. When it wouldn't work, I tried Microsoft's o15-ctrremove.diagcab to be absolutely certain there were no remnant's of Office, but it was a clean install in VMWare (other than making the .iso with abbodi1406's script and installing Visual C++ runtimes). I'll try again with a plain vanilla Win 7 that has not been updated.

It was also activated via KMS_VL_ALL, and I tried upgrading to Windows 10 Pro to see what would happen, it upgraded to Windows 10 Enterprise and the upgrade was a disaster. The CPU is running at 50% with AppXSvc causing svchost to run constantly, KMS_VL_ALL says "No supported KMS client windows detected", Microsoft Store can't be found and can't be repaired or reinstalled without errors, etc., etc. Something went very wrong with the Windows 7 iso with WHD-W7UI_4.8 I think.

 

Is it better to use ODT, OfficeRTool or YAOCTRI?

I'm reading here that people are updating their Office 2019 install. I thought Office 2019 could not be updated. I thought you had to buy it again to get updates.

Sorry for all the questions. Just wondering why some use the YAOCTRI and OfficeRTool instead of ODT.

 

I'm looking at some of the tools. They allow an online install or I can choose to download only to do an offline install later. What type of files do they download? Are they CAB files?

@Krakatoa how can I download the 32 bit version on the wotok_online version? By default I get 64 bit and I see no way to select. Using 2018.12.23.01 online.

Wonder if someone can help me with the office deployment tool. I downloaded the volume edition of office 2019 with xml file without problems.. Now is there a way to just update the install files. I'm asking this because i went through the download process again so I can have the latest version {thinking it would just update whatever files it needs to update}but it increased the size by almost 2 gigs. If this happens once a month when updates come out the size of the install directory will keep growing.
