No, dark mode does not change cells color, just top and border. Up to now it seems to be very similar to office 2021.
Having got fed up with the '30088-27' error which keeps reappearing a few days after every fresh install, I scrubbed everything and installed 'PerpetualVL2021' using OfficeRTool. Will it automatically get updated to 'PerpetualVL2024', or do I have to change the Distribution Channel for that?
"One-time" releases have their own channels, they do not change automatically. Even manual change is not allowed according to Microsoft documentation, which could potentially cause update problems and/or activation errors (if Microsoft implements such a check).
Crazy that it keeps coming back for you. Mine just updated to 17932.20084 and I can check for updates just fine.
There are some other problems too. I can't install the latest Windows 10 cumulative security update KB5043064; I get the error 0x8007371b no matter what bugfixing steps I take. Also, everytime Firefox updates, I get the NSIS error "make sure your temporary folder is valid" or something. Maybe it is time for a reinstall.
@k$ Maybe try an in-place upgrade repair with an official 22H2 iso first. You can keep all of your programs and data this way. It typically takes 30-40 minutes and fixes over 90% of problems (in my personal experience), particularly with failed updates. With FF save your bookmarks and passwords (if applicable) and perform a Refresh; you may have a corrupted profile.
Error 0x8007371b is caused by incorrect version number references in the registry, and you generally can't fix it with an in-place reinstall keeping all files and settings. In general, you need to do a fresh and completely clean installation of both the OP system and all programs. That way you get everything right again, including those changes you've misconfigured. It's important to find out what change you made in the settings or registry that caused this problem and then not repeat them again. So I think a fresh install with keeping apps and settings won't solve your problem as the cause is in damaged settings or wrongly changed registry values.
@kaljukass I took @monstrocity's advice (before your very informative reply was posted) and did a reinstall (kept apps and files) from an official ISO. The Cumulative Update installed successfully. Now I want to see if the NSIS error is fixed. The only fiddling in the Registry that I remember doing is removing extraneous Wi-Fi SSIDs; my Windows seems to add (and increment) a number after the SSID every time I connect to it. So for example, my Wi-Fi hotspot's SSID is simply named 'Hotspot', and when I connect to it, the network icon in the system tray shows 'Hotspot 2', then when I disconnect and reconnect, it shows 'Hotspot 3' and so on. I was up to 'Hotspot 86' before I had enough and went digging around in the Registry to clean stuff up. I know it has something to do with Wi-Fi Mac Randomization and I am still looking for a permanent solution to it. Thanks again to both you awesome people for the replies!
