Yes, you need to do that. If you want to perform a custom installation - Word & Excel only - then you need to install Office Pro Plus 2024 LTSC via ODT (not Retail).
Although there is an option of the Office Retail custom installation as well...

Appreciate the help.. a few questions please...

Whats the difference between LTSC and retail? Which is better?

Which is easier to install? Mind you, I prefer online install. And how do I install it?

Yes, save to Office.cmd and run, both Excel and Word will be installed without your interaction, about activation, later. when "Configuration.txt" appears, add and don't forget to save and exit it..

Hi,.. I didn't quite catch the last part about activation in your comment. Would you mind clarifying this please? Do I need to activate them?

Btw, when I click on the Office.cms I get this message in my browser:
"This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

    What does this mean?

Hey.. I'll have to finish this tomorrow since I'm at work. Will you be on here tomorrow at around 4pm EST?

Btw I'll uninstall the Office 2024 LTSC install from my PC. I'll start a fresh install tomorrow. Let me know what you think

I am not a fun of MS Office and can"t say which is better, all I can say Office LTSC gets less updates.
Office Retail is easier to install...
