I'm blown away! (Had to restart it once as I went to do an unzip on another file and it seemed to lock things up, but the 2nd time it ran through just find (Shortcuts section was the longest). interestingly, it did not run in PowerShell, but CMD. Maybe that's because I'm running WoA, I don't know (my first WoA system). Two follow up questons: 1) So I have Office (Official) physically installed (not just the web versions) - but that does not include OUTLOOK, VISIO, or PROJECT. Will the standard VISIO+PROJECT disc still be fine? & 2) What do I do about getting CLASSIC OUTLOOK installed (instead of "NEW" Outlook) - fyi, apparently a lot of MS users also do not like the "New" version - I'm told that a LOT of work is being done on it due to the volume of negative feedback. Thanks! --- DS UPDATE: I think M$' plan descriptions are rather deceptive. For the 365 Basic ($19.99/m) it indicates: *Ad-free Outlook email and calendar web, mobile, and desktop apps To me "desktop apps" would indicate INSTALLED apps. Apparently, that is not the case - they are the WEB apps. (Add one more complaint!) The only difference in the wording for the 365 Personal / 365 Family is: *Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote desktop apps with Copilot I will be discussing this with MS when they call me back - there is some explaining & clarification required. Will update when I get the answers. UPDATE: Ok, so I mis-read the line above. With the 365 Basic, it is just Outlook that is available as the Desktop install (either Classic or New) - however, I did have to run the scrubber to be able to install it. I will see about installing the rest of the Office Suite next.
Pardon my ignorance, but is there any way I could block Office from saving my files on the cloud? Edit: Found! Mods, please remove this shame of mine
I installed Office 365 ProPlusRetail, however, about page says different. Is it just me? Previous version was 2024. I uninstalled it using Office Scrubber
@BaffledSoftware - A perhaps overly simplistic explanation For office installations, the installation media and setup process are slightly different for retail and volume versions. The proper type of key must be used for activation. After installation of a retail version, a retail to volume conversion is needed if you want to activate by kms (volume) method. For Windows, at least Windows 7 and later, there is no such restriction. Oem, retail, or volume keys can be used for activation, regardless of the installation media actually used. License type depends only on the key used, and can be changed simply by changing the key, no retail to volume conversion is needed.
Small correction, for Windows 7, only Professional and Enterprise SKUs can take Volume keys. Enterprise supports only Volume IIRC. (For Vista, it is Business and Enterprise SKUs, accordingly). Retail = Shelf-bought standalone license. OEM = Bundled with hardware by big, or as System Builder license for small OEMs. Volume = Mass activation and distribution for big corporations.
Title: How to Activate Microsoft Office 365 (Full Official Version) — Step-by-Step Help Needed Hi everyone, I need some help activating Microsoft Office 365 full official version on my PC, and I’d like to make sure I’m doing it the right way using only official methods. I’ve read a few guides online, but some steps are still confusing, so I’d really appreciate your guidance. My goal: I want to activate Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) with an official license so I can get full access to features like updates, OneDrive sync, and collaboration tools. What I’ve tried so far: I created a Microsoft account and logged in. Went to office.com and clicked “Install Office.” It showed me an option for a free trial, but I’m not sure where to enter my product key. My questions: If I already have a product key, where exactly do I enter it during setup or after installation? What’s the difference between a Microsoft 365 subscription activation and a one-time product key activation? If I start with the free trial, how can I convert it later into a full, paid subscription without reinstalling? How do I fix the “Product not activated” or “Sign-in required” error that sometimes appears in Word or Excel? Are there any official student or business plans that include Office 365 at a lower cost or with extra features? Please share the official activation steps, helpful Microsoft links (like office.com/setup or account.microsoft.com), or any troubleshooting tips that worked for you. Thanks a lot for your help! Does anyone know how to do an offline update for Microsoft Office 365? I have a computer that doesn't have a constant internet connection, so I would like to download the necessary files and install them manually later.
Do you have a link to some instructions? I’m not really good at these things. Can that be done through the OfficeTool.plus application?
