Anyone trying to install this on Windows 8 Ent-N (RTM) may get an error first time round, if you do, just dismiss the error and run the Setup again, worked for me, now all works perfect Could of been my system but thought I'd say anyway
Yeah first time I installed it, it stopped once during setup, then after I reinstalled Windows 8 I did another install of Starter & it stopped about 2-3 times then after that it went OK, after it stops just keep clicking on the Setup, even try right clicking Setup and running it as Admin, I recall doing that & it installed in the end with no issues. Edit: BTW I downloaded all the necessary files before running the actual Setup file.
It looks like Win8 doesn't run the setup as administrator even though it has "Setup" written in the filename, running as administrator worked on the first try. Weird.
Any idea where i can get the german versions of the new version that will install on windows 8? One more question, where chan i get the reg file wich fixes Q Drive Letter Problems?
Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoDrives"=dword:00010000
"5008" is not working for me. I have tried "everything" (I hope). "5003" worked very well, I use it on W7 and W8. I used the same SetupConsumerC2ROLW-nl-nl.exe (so that's the Dutch version), and downloaded the other files with WGET (twice!). Did a binary compare between first and second download, but they're the same. Setup (almost) finishes, right at the end, after "step 4 of 4" it says (translated from Dutch): "There's a problem installing Office Starter 2010: A problem has occured installing Office. Try running setup again". I don't understand what's going on here, have you guys successfully installed the new 5008 version? Other things I tried: - Windows 8: Running setup as admin - Restoring a clean Windows 7 images (TrueImage): No luck - Installing the old version (5003) after the failed 5008 install: 5003 installs fine (so there's no "mess" left behind after trying and failing 5008). I'm out of ideas.... Anyone? Thanks!
A friend of mine has brought to me his laptop to recover his OEM computer that happen to me a lot sometimes recover from hidden partation or to make recovery disks any way .. so I went to the directory "%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\OEMOffice14\OStarter\" as you mention and found these files: 8d1fd24d-d96b-4e58-b0db-724615cddeb7.dsft 050bf4d7-31ff-4a33-827e-820028a4523f.dsft 51285002.cab autorun.inf click2run.msi click2run64.msi ConsumerC2R.ar-sa_14.0.5128.5002.fs.hmp ConsumerC2R.ar-sa_14.0.5128.5002.sft descriptor.xml launchofficeintl.dll Office.exe PackageProperties.xml SetupConsumerC2R.exe SetupConsumerC2ROLW.exe WelcomeDocument.dotx So I toke a copy of them just to make sure that will work from a usb flash drive offline any way it didn't work it was asking for internet connection so I connected to the net after that an updates from MS install which was (KB2553141) and (KB2494150) after that everything work fine but my questions are : 1.What I'm missing.. what I need to make it work offline I mean on other computers in case I need.. I found " ...Office-2010-Starter-Offline-Setup-Tool " which I admitted I didn't try it yet but already downloaded 2.I found a lot of things at the same directory "%PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\OEMOffice14" e.g "Office14" which contains "Office Pro 2010" so my question can I put both of them in a dvd instead of downloading it saving time and money..BTW in my country 15 GB downloading cost about 50$ .. per month or a week when you finish you should pay at first. 3.What I need to activate This version in my friend laptop it is asking for S.N or to bay it so how to activate it in simple way 123 I looked over MDL and didn't found it that easy like other things learned it from MDL even your post started with download that and that .. nobody mention what size is it ?? Thanks for your patient and reading .. I hope you accept my poor english
Did you also use the latest version? For me, the very latest doesn't work, and I can't understand why?! [See message #370]
everything in the OEMOffice14 folder is what was copied by the Office 2010 OEM Preinstallation Kit, except for the 64-bit files (not copied by default). You can burn all of those to disc and you will have a the "single image" version of the Office 2010 retail installation files. If you choose to recreate the OPK disc, you will need to find the oemsetup.en-us.bat file... or if your Office is in a different language, then just simply rename the language code to whatever that matches your language of Office.
No sir I made a ghost image for the volume C after the CD's finished building factory OEMsetup before the prepare for first time use it contains OEMOffice 14 with 5 different languages ar-sa en-us fr-fr pt-pt tr-tr not only for OStarter but with Office14 including that languages plus Office64 for them... you know after you finished installation and choose your language all of them will gone except the one you choose.. by the way what about Q.3 the activation is it possible to do it Thank you in advance .. I hope you accept my poor English
Has any one got Office Starter going with Windows 8? I've just used the tool to download version 14.0.6126.5003 and the mediafire link for the C2ROLW en-us but it fails at step one every time. "There was a problem setting up Microsoft Office Starter 2010: There was a problem setting up Microsoft Office. Try running setup again. If problem continues, contact Microsoft Product Support."
