Hi, I have rad.msn.com disabled (for msn), when I install Office Starter, will the adverts in Office Starter be disabled as well? Also does anyone know the difference in installed filesize from Starter 2010 to Professional 2010, Thank You
Office 2010 Starter = Word 2010 and Excel 2010 Office 2010 Pro = Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access, OneNote and Publisher... do you think all thees programs is using the same amount of space as Word and Excel?
Microsoft Office Professional 2010 - Approx. 590 MB to download, which will then be about 1.?GB when installed. Microsoft Office Starter 2010 - Approx. 420MB to download & it's run from the virtualized Q drive so ???.
If you install Office 2010 Starter direct from this file: c2r.microsoft.com/ConsumerC2R/en-us/14.0.4763.1000/SetupConsumerC2ROLW.exe it download around 400 MB, including the file on 1.5 MB. But you can start using Word and Excel after it has downloaded around 100 MB.
Anyone know how I can install not the newest (=14.0.5123.5002) but an other version (E.G. = 14.0.4763.1000)? It looks like that I must edit this file? descriptor.xml?
Well I guess you'd have to download these files first: c2r.microsoft.com/ConsumerC2R/en-us/14.0.4763.1000/ConsumerC2R.en-us_14.0.4763.1000.sft c2r.microsoft.com/ConsumerC2R/en-us/14.0.4763.1000/ConsumerC2R.en-us_14.0.4763.1000.fs.hmp c2r.microsoft.com/ConsumerC2R/en-us/14.0.4763.1000/47631000.cab All the other remaining files as well, not sure what the latest the SetupConsumerC2ROLW.exe would do if you added it to the other older files above. You would possibly have to edit both the PackageProperties.xml & Descriptor.xml with the older version numbers although I'm not sure. May I ask why you'd wanna install an older version of Office Starter?
Collect beta's and other releases, that's the reason. I have downloaded that files, but then he is installing the newest version, so I thought, I must edit the xml files ...
Maybe you need to download the Office OPK then. Since Office 2010 Starter downloads almost everything from the internett, it's diffucult to go back to an older version, using the online version. If you download a older version of Office OPK (if anybody has it), then you can use the old version there. Thats the offline version. But it's only MS OEM partners that can download Office OPK, and the versions that can be downloaded now, it most likely the new version.
hello, any one can give Arabe Version Office 2010 Starter Full Installer Version Ar-ar/Office 2010 Starter
It make sense, since it always download what it need, and MS do not keep older files on their server, because this can make problems for others. So you have to live withou the old version. I don't think it will help if you got the old version (420 MB). I still think it will update to the new version when it goes online. But I will test this now, and if it run the old version after installing, I can share the files with you.
Ok, tested now. And it's seems like if you install the full version of Starter you get 14.0.5114.5002 if you install it offline. When I used Windows Update, I did not get any updates that changed the version number. But it says on their website that the new version 14.0.5123.5002 is an update. So at one point you will get the new version installed, if your computer is connected to the internet. Do you really need the old version so bad? I can upload it, but it will take some time, and I don't see the point. But I'm alway helping people in need out here on MDL.
I was just reading about Microsoft Office 2010 on Wikipedia & it suggests that the PowerPoint Viewer 2010 comes with Office Starter, or is that just on OEM installed computers via the OPK? I already have the PPV2010.exe downloaded from M$ I just wondered if there was anyway I could get the setup file in Starter to intall PPV as well in one go or do you just have to install it separately?
You will have to install it seperatly. It's not even included in the office 2010 OPK. What I did was create a batch file (based on the one in the office OPK). What it does is copy the source files to the %PROGRAMDATA% folder (as suggested in the office OPK), install powerpoint viewer silently and then start the office starter setup.
