For the record I tried to install the SIS service (which is a form of duplication, available only on storage server 2008r2) and it works perfectly. That one is just an msu. You have just to click on, to install it) So I think the Hyperview has a good chance to work. I didn't test it beacuse frankly, for home use, VMware or even Virtualbox are way better solutions
Are you saying in Windows 10, using V7, you are able to view HBO with a HDHomerun Prime? No issues at all? What did you do to get that working?
I've had my InfiniTV-4 installed on my WHS 2011 machine before. (for tuner sharing) It's been long enough that I don't remember if I had to do anything special to get the drivers installed, but I know that the drivers can be installed.
Windows 10 was an in place upgrade from Windows 7 (which I had MCE working fine). When I upgraded it did warn me about removing MCE and so I did. I then got a hold of the Win 10 MCE prerelease and installed that, wenot through playready, cc install, etc. Had a ton of issues after that. Removed it, installed v4, no extenders, no guide, then installed v7, guide working, everything else working just not extenders. I believe the original win 10 mce has something in there to allow drm (i.e. playready), since on v4 and v7 installs I never had to re-install it.
I wasn't planning on using a 1080p stream HBO copy protects its non-HD channels as well which then only requires a 10 to 15 mbps pipe. Which my connection will support.
Something very weird going on here with my tuner card. Couldn't get this working at all last night so decided to uninstall it for the time being and revert to my old Argus+Kodi solution. Then discovered that one of the tuners in my dual DVB-T2 card wasn't working any more. Tried everything and couldn't get it working so ended up restoring the previous night's backup. Still doesn't work! This is nuts. It's either the world's biggest co-incidence or this install has somehow broken one of the tuners in my card. I'm baffled right now. I have another of the same card in another machine so I'll try swapping that out tonight to see if it's a hardware issue but I can't see how it can be software as I restored a backup from when it was working.
I've had tuner problems like that before in the past, just taking it out and putting it back in fixed it, sometimes even unplugging power from the machine for a few minutes fixes it.
Hi all and many thanks to all who made this possible. Only issue I have is error message saying no codec available when trying to play live tv or dvds. The epg is fine. Where would I get and how would I install the correct codec?
Please read my post nr: #1948 for downloading a simple PDF file whit settings for Shark007 codecpack. You NEED to install this package, otherwise Live-TV is NOT working…… I assume that you also need the separate Windows DvD Player to do its thing. After installing and setting Shark007 some settings I think in the windows register are made to do the trick for both Live-TV and surround audio. This setup works in The Netherlands. And please let us know from which country you are so we can make a country setup for where it is and where it is not working.... Working countries are: The Netherlands NOT working countries are: USA (because of "PlayReady" problem)
Not confuse the user's ideas You need the DVDpalyer that enables the MS codecs OR A third party one like the LAV codecs. You can have both and even more codecs, in that case a gui like the one provided by Shark007 is useful to configure what use what. But the correct reply to the question is (aside RTFM ) install the DVDplayer.
No need to install argus mediaportal or whatever. Just disable their services. Then you can disable the WMC services and re-enable them again to quickly switch from a backend to another. Back to your question, no WMC has nothing to do with tuner's drivers, unless those drivers messed with the stock bda dlls, which is very unlikely
But because where not a 100% clear if Live-TV works whiteout the MS DvD-Player codecs, it's better to install them both....... at least that’s what I come up whit……..
I always have had other codecs installed like the Klite codecs pack ot just the LAV filters. Anyway on WMC looks like the LAV codecs (although mostly working) have some minor drawbacks on FF/RW and other situations. So the minimal and suggested solution is the DVDplayer, then everything else that can help generally on on corner situations is obviously welcome.
Shark007 advanced codecs updated 13/10/2015 (v5.50)... apparently has "- updates specific to Windows 10 /WMC"
Yes, I saw that to, but gold not find out what the different really was, but it’s very good to see and read that the guy behind this codecpack is also reading this threat (at least I assume that he does that) and maybe he also is testing certain important things behind the scene…. Because he talks specific about Windows 10 /WMC update: notable updates (current): - update LAV filters 66.24 (official release) - update Gabest filters 1.4.6.878 (official release) - update MediaInfo DLL 7.78 (official release) - update Icaros 3.0 RC2 (new GUI) - re-instate Haali functionality - upates specific to Windows 10 /WMC
Interesting.....indeed!!! The using 5.49, i was able to get non drm channels to play fine, on win10. Im tempted to leave work early to try this out!!! hahahahaha anyone else try 5.50?
