Well, a lot of time ago I forced sonyericsson to release the pcsuite for UIQ also for win98. They told that was impossible to get the suite working on win98 (making w2k or above a requirement). I made the installer for 98 (perhaps changing a single byte on the installer binary ), soon after that SE released the "updated" version for 98. So, although unlikely, is not impossible.
YES I can confirm that it works with Shark007 version 5.50 because off today I made a totally new setup with satellite Live-TV and that works (The Netherlands that is) Now I’m testing the sleep setting for programed recording, so in a bit I can tell if that works or not………
Please tell us in wich country you live ? and did you install MS DvD-Player and/or Shark007 CodeckPack ?
Your correct, I should of been a LOT more clear oh how I said it. WHS is a nice product, I know it's feature set and what it can do. I personally just put a few 2008 R2 servers in my home. As a Systems admin, it gives me for flexablity for what I need and I had the licenences so all good there. What was meaning for WMC to be on WHS, it would be a big deal for a lot of users who use cablecard (or even standard tuners I guess) to have a all in one soulution to this. All media incuding recording of shows on 1 Machine vs. having a PC under your TV. Then using exenders (xbox 360s) at each TV to view all that content. To really pull the PC out of the living room (Personally, I like the flexabilty I get with one) I needed to correct myself, WHS is a nice product and still has a good following. Are you able to use WMC features via Remote WHS (bring up the gide, watch live TV, recorded shows etc) ?? If no one does anything with it, I can test over the weekend, I can dump it in a VM and test. I have a few licenences for it....
US, windows 7 pro (3 machines), 2 pcie and one network MOCUR (multi stream cable cards) setups , no dvd player, no shark codecs. None of 3 machines will play live protected content, or play back recorded protected content over teamviewer. "Display Driver Error. The video playback device does not support playback of protected content" Non protected channels and recorded content play back fine. note: im talking about win7 MC here, not the hacked win10 install.
Frankly I didn't even test that, given I can access the guide in a zillion of ways now (DVBlink clients/WMC on clients/Kodi on clients/DVBlink internal website, and so on) Then I set the recording folder from X:\Recorded TV to X:\server folders\Recorded TV and I can acces it from anywhere, playing a recording from a client's WMC, even while Server's WMC is still recording it. For my needs is more than enough.
Is anyone using an Aver Media USB TV tuner, and if so is FM radio working in WMC installed on Win 10?
But this threat is discussing the implementation off the MCE pack in this threat in Windows 10 You have problems with a “normal” Windows 7 setup with “integrated” MCE For you it should be better to discuss this problem in another threat I think ? But normally spoken inside MCE is a standard MPEG2 codec build in which should work properly. In you setup there could be al kind of problems which we do not know off. It “sounds” like the video card driver of the server machine is not updated ? But it also could be a codec problem, maybe you have installed codecs before and you’re not aware of at the time ? If so uninstall them all and see what comes up.
Thats awesome!!! so to reiterate, what I plan on doing when I get home... - install the MS dvd player - install wmc v8 - install hdhomerun prime sw - install shark 5.50 with the settings in the pdf... Can you confirm if this the same as what you did? Thanks again!!!!
I am asking because it was the one thing that I had not tried, and found out it did not work. It is telling me that no radio tuner is installed. It works fine in Win 7 and Win 8.1
I live in New York, using cablevision cablecard. I will try tonight when I get home and update everyone....
you are missing the point. If it doesnt work under win7, there is no reason why it should work in win10. Its not SUPPOSED to work in win7 OR win10. Teamviewer does not support protected path. DRM is DRM. how did someone break DRM by making it work?
No I don’t think I’m missing any point. User “The Mac” is specifically telling us that he is using a "normal" windows 7 with "normal" (pre installed) MCE environment and NOT with the hacked MCE: note: im talking about win7 MC here, not the hacked win10 install.
lets try agian i am using both 3 machines with win7, and one with win10 hacked MC. My win10 will not record or playback protected content at all locally, and the win7 machines wont play it back over teamviewer from the other win7 machines.. Again, how did someone break DRM and make viewing DRM protected content over teamviewer in win10 possible? Im assuming the individual who managed this is NOT using MOCUR, ie outside of the US, however this shouldnt make a difference to playready/protected content
