You need to go here: www . mysysadmintips . com /windows/clients/545-multiple-rdp-remote-desktop-sessions-in-windows-10 and follow Option 1 (You can try 2 as per vids instructions) and then you should be able to get your extender working... You might have an issue though where after 5 minutes it disconnects and if so I am still trying to find a solution for that and I am sure others are too... There is also a video: www . youtube . com /watch?v=PtzKsAjH-hw P.S. Make sure you remove the spaces in both the links.
Ok, so I installed Windows 10 N, then copied the MediaFeaturePack from Windows 8.1 N (using the msu and Total Uninstall application). Merged the registry and files over. Ran Product Policy Editor and turned on all the codecs. Then Installed Windows Media Center and tested a MPEG2 dvr'd file (CopyFree). It played. I also tested via Windows Media Player and it played as well. Then I tested LiveTV on a CopyFree channel, and it played. I then tested CopyOnce, and got the "WeakTV Signal/Update PlayReady" error message to my surprise. This is the same thing that occurred with @DavidCT when he ran the sfc /scannow check. Which I was able to replicate as well and couldn't get any further. I've also received "Activated Required", your Digital Cable Device or Windows must be activated.". However ran into a snag with the initial setup of WMC Live TV. I can't get the DTA to activate (even tho I've forced it with the reg file). I think its because the CableCard ProductKey can't activate on Windows 10 N. So I'll have to do this same procedure on Windows 10 standard. I did install the Key manually, but it wouldn't activate. So I can't be 100% sure that the Weak TV Signal error didn't come up because of that. Other than those two things which could be related, that's all that didn't go as expected. Software Protection Policy was verified to be running which is needed for any Key activations. I'm done for the evening, another day another time to continue. Exhausted. Also, the good news is, the GRAPH matches identically to Windows 7/8 now.
I couldn't find anything relevant in msmpeg2vdec.dll for 8.1 but some others maybe unrelated checks are present in ehshell.dll and Mcx2Filter.dll: Code: MCLicense-6F20786B-7DFC-4d72-B98B-FAA8699E5758-AdvancedConfigurationEnabled MCLicense-9871786D-C2DE-4474-BDBB-C21A8B81B6C3-DVDRemotingEnabled MCLicense-7CBE1823-362F-43b1-9AB6-92F18C216806-SupportedTunerCount To find out the "Modified System Files" error, somebody should monitor DLL/registry activity while playing protected content.
Damn! You're fast. I understand perfectly the fatigue related to this kind of experiments. So, possibly a step forward? P.S. One more thing. Looking at my screenshot above I realized that, back to the days when we were doing experiments to get the WMC working, I missed something that now seem obvious. At the time I wasn't able to made the edit to the policy values to stick, even with the SPP service disabled. Now I'm almost sure that the Clipservice must be disabled as well on W10, given it does some of the tasks previously done by the SPP alone. I didn't tried it yet, but I bet on that guess.
Wanted to say thanks to all . I installed WMC on a fresh windows 10 install with the (WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v8) installer On my HTPC. I did have to add the NETWORK SERVICE for the wake timers, And used the Shark 5.5.1 advanced codecs and I am getting surround 5.1 on my system "I tested it with some sample trailers from demo-world.eu/ ". I also installed the Windows 10 DVD Player so the pictures in the recorded programs would work correctly.
System Files Modified Denial Announcement Can someone try to view protected content with the following patch? %SystemRoot%\ehome\mcplayerinterop.dll (x64) Code: 24c18 03 39 00 38
mcplayerinterop.dll also exists at %Windir%\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_64\mcplayerinterop should this also be patched?
It's the same file hard linked twice (three times tbh. There's a third occurrence in SxS). So yes. To be sure better to replace at least the one in .net.
I'm doing this alot in VM at this point, I'm not even fully sure it'll play in that. I figured once i had a good result, id replicate to a physical device. I'll try this soon as I can, whats the best software to modify hex would you say?
I know T-S posted about 15 pages back that after update to 10565, to just click installer again. Just to clarify, if a W10 build update removes WMC, clicking installer, you actually mean run the _testrights.cmd and installer.bat again. Settings should not be affected. ? Thanks.
HHD hex editor neo is nice and in the paid version has a lot of features. Search an so on. You can get the full version running for 15 days, then it will switch to basic/free version. But there are many others fully free hex editors. It's just matter of preferences, then.
I'll just use my GigaByte Projector PC and see if I can replicate my results to a physical machine and actually activate instead of using Windows 10 N this time. I'll also try Graznok's latest patch for the System Files Modified message. I'll likely try that one first. PC is busy getting imaged right now so I can revert after my tinkering. I'll update when I test the patch for System Files Modified. Its midnight now, work at 8am, will see how long my brain can keep.
HAHA... I understand your frustration. I went ahead and made the HEX update to that file and still getting the "modified" Error. This really messed up my football watching today, which I had no idea was copy protected.
Never mind. "Critical Windows Media Center files that are required for video playback have been replaced." string refers to the 5180 string id in ehres.dll and is stored in Video_SecurePipelineBlocked_message constant. It looks like this constant is used to display the message when apparently an "COPPUntrustedGraph" exception is raised by mcplayer.dll and caught by mcplayerinterop.dll. Untrusted Graph is a clue. Before finding the cause of this exception, try to suppress the "denial announcement". Patch mcplayerinterop.dll (x64) this way: Code: 276e0 12 00 2B 1F
Just want to say thanks too all involved for this package. I have been a user or Media Center since its introduction back in the XP days, glad to see that this will now run perfectly on Windows 10. I have installed this on Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit and Windows 10 Enterprise 64 Bit and it works perfectly so far...........I have not tested the coming out of stanby to record yet and I ude satelite and OTA so no DRM to contend with. Once thing though, I did try the 32 bit V3 install first of all on Windows 10 Pro via W7 > W10 then a fresh install of W10 32 Bit and the following faults were present:- 1) Not registered in the Start Menu. 2) Green Button would not launch WMC or the keyboard shortcut. 3) Unable to setup the live TV at all. Obviously the above was a deal breaker for 32 Bit so I migrated to 64 Bit and used V7 which works perfect.......I just thought I would let the 32 bit users know before they try it! Thanks Again !!!!!!
Are you looking for something that launches the Windows 10 (Metro) App from a WMC shortcut, and then monitors when it closes and relaunches WMC or a plugin to make it work like it was built in ? Of course the later would be ideal but the shortcut would be easier. I remember the old workaround did the same with the Netflix Desktop app (standard windows program) but that program is now depracated The Metro app sucks as far as remote control operation though mholgate has develeoped a script to improve remote control operation of the app avsforum dot com / forum/26-home-theater-computers/2133042-new-tool-netflix-remote-controller.html
