I had a similar problem, turned out to be my firewall blocking it. Have you tried disabling your firewall to see if it recognizes it??
Yes but this setting should be well known. If you want to bitstream over HDMI or Optical you have to set sound output to stereo when working whit a codecpack (like Shark) But the sound problem you had was kind odd do Nice en great that it is working for you too
Problem with Windows 10 WMC: install WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v8 and work good .. but Everytime i enter to task/setting/Tv/Guide Or Tv signal it takes At least 1 minute to inter the part. Whats The reason ? how can i fix it ? Thanks
Afaik isn't a problem reported by any other. So, likely is a specific problem of your system, maybe some odd antivirus or antispyware is interacting badly?
You folks that worked on and solved this problem are great. I'll buy you all a New Belgium Fat Tire Beer if you're ever up Fort Collins way. I upgraded a BIOS modded motherboard with a Hauppage 1600 TV tuner card from Win7 Ultimate to Win10 Pro. I then installed the latest software and drivers from Hauppage for the tuner card and made sure that it worked under Win10. It did. I then downloaded the Windows Media Center pack and followed the instructions in the two README files and voila I'm back in business. I can record all the network shows coming out of Denver using a large Radio Shack yagi antenna up in the attic (HOA issues here). Thank you, thank you, thank you
Got bored and decided to try again. Setup Windows 10 Activated Windows 10 Installed WMC v8 Ran through WMC Setup (update PlayReady failed, not the Install PlayReady part; as that succeeded). Ran Update PlayReady under Settings > TV. Succeeded after stopping WMC Receiver service. Imported Registry Settings from MediaFoundation 8.1 Update under TrustedInstaller. Rebooted, copied MediaFoundation 8.1 Update contents to Root of C drive. Booted back into Windows 10 and ran Product Policy Editor to Enable MPEG2 codecs. Rebooted, then attempted to play CopyOnce content. Message received, "Copy Prohibited, content must be played on original computer." <--this isn't the standard copy prohibited you get when you use a 3rd party codec. Attempted to record CopyOnce (without viewing). Data recorded, then replayed on same PC under Windows Media Player. No error messages, just a Black Screen. Ultimately, after everything I've seen here. I doubt we will ever get CopyOnce playing. I think the issue lies in PlayReady not being compatible with Windows 10. Were there any versions of Windows 10 released that actually allowed Windows Media Center to stay and "work". I mean at what point did Windows Media Center start to get removed forcefully from upgrades?
The latest leaked W10 versions which included WMC were the builds 10134 and 10135, <---those were uable to get the guide/livetv setup data. Not sure about the last version where the guide worked correctly likely 10074 or so. The latest version that included the WMC MUIs was 10036. P.S. can you upload somewhere the unpacked W8.1 media pack? Given the work is already done, someone else can start from there to do furhter experiments. Thanks. P.S2. did you try to play with the product policy editor to enable the codecs?
Can you let me know when the xbox extender disconnect problem is fixed? I had my system upgraded and extenders installed then found the annoying Bug. Then when i tried to revert back to 8.1 it said "you must uninstall newly created user accounts" which didn't really exist ( extender accounts). solution was to system restore to before i installed extender then it let me roll back win 10 installation. Needless to say it was a frustrating night.
HI no way to update satellite data base in wmc ( Add New Satellite + Provider + Transponder ) or update all of them with file ( satellites.xml ) or ...... thanks
I have intalled the latest and after that versions 80, 90, 92 and 108. notting works. I must be a MCE problem. Nero live and Mediaportal functions, ecept the cam.
The latest v8 MCE works 100% guarantied, there is NO MCE problem as you asume, also al lot of other Dutch people have a working setup with Live-TV. but which codecpack do you use and did you change the settings. Did you also installed the MS DvD-Player ?
This patch is currently working great for me. Thanks to all those involved. I am just wondering if anyone had it on their radar to look at Extenders / Xbox 360 ? thanks
Yes it would be great if they weren't dust collectors anymore, that was really rotten of microsoft its not like WMC cost them anything. All we have to do is stop the disconnecting after 5 minutes.
Thanks for your reply, and by the way don't be discouraged, people wait TEN YEARS for WMC not stuck to the WMC SKUs, isn't said that all the remaining glitches/problems must be ironed out "tomorrow". Hopefully in the time being more skilled people from the US,and more skilled extender owners will be involved and the problems will be solved.
