I think that almost surely the problem is related to the mpeg2 encoder, which is needed to convert the analog TV, unless that task is done in HW, on the higher level cards. Maybe there is something more to patch to get the cheaper analog cards working.
Guide Tool...the program I use to backup and restore my tv turner lineup in MC......no longer works once I uninstalled pack v.6....then installed v.7 (latest one I found link to). Says cant connect connection actively refused. weird
I just started having this issue.....Media Center loads its stuff fine, but when I try to view Live TV...it takes at least 30 secs to actually tune and display video. It didn't do this before. Only thing that has changed on my system recently...Win updates. Does it both on my desktop and laptop.
Look into the following: extra\manage extra\extra If there is a textmarker for "OABsoftware" disable the marker
Yes, I know that, they are for Windows 7 but are the same drivers that are working with 8.1! and also are the same drivers that install automatically when I install any windows
I haven't tried with the mcepg files and folder from 8.1, but copying them from a Win7 install worked for me.
Ha Did that to. digital-devices and mce / 10 give me some . In windows 7, 8 and 8.1 it is no problem so it must be in the mce patch or windows 10.
First of all thanks to all those involved awesome work. I have scanned through but such a long thread. Has anyone had problems with the Window Command buttons not working (minimize. maximize and close) seem to work at times but for the most part they dont. Only happens in WMC. Running the latest WMC 64 bit version available from this site. I have Emby addon also installed formally (Media Browser 3). Everything else seems to works fine. Thanks Ray
I have also been having an issue with window size however it might be specific to Netflix. I restored Netflix using an earlier link in this thread. Now when I start video in Netflix the WMC window cascades to the top 90% or so of the screen. In other words it shows my windows desktop on the bottom 10% and taskbar . In order to get it back to normal full screen I have to hit the cascade button and then maximize button again. Not using displayport.
DisplayPort can be a relative term. For example, I have a Surface Pro and I'm just using the standard internal screen and I have this issue. It is until I use the display port to HDMI output and volia no issues.
Yeah I am using old computer with Zotac geforce 9500gt that has dvi out with hdmi adapter I think my issue is different. I do not use cablecard. Netflix plays fine without any driver errors. It just is not fully maximized or reverts from being maximized to not being fully maximized when I play a new episode...
I came across that problem. You must enable Disable display scaling on high DPI settings in Compatibility tab on shortcut properties.
WMC install on Windows 10. Tuner problem Hi First time posting here, hope someone can help. I have managed to successfully install windows media centre on my new Windows 10 upgrade The WMC install was helpfully put together by members of this forum, the download being titled "WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0v2.1". It does work but does have a problem which I wonder if someone has a solution to. I have a Hauppauge Hybrid tuner installed which has analogue TV, digital TV, HD satellite and radio tuner all on one card, I think the model number was WIN TV HVR 4XXX or something like this. You can only play each tuner independently though. I used this in my windows 7 Media PC for years to record Freeview digital UK TV and Satellite German TV (Astra19.2E). I am using exactly the same hardware now but with the exception of a new SSD for the operating system (now Windows 10) and with just a few programs on this, otherwise everything is the same set up as worked ok before. The new install of WMC works with using the LAVFilter codec pack. However, I can only get WMC to detect the Freeview TV signal. It does not detect the satellite connection at all. Freeview plays ok. If I set up the TV signal manually and select "Satellite" WMC just crashes immediately and closes, even if I disconnect the satellite dish cable first. Can anyone offer any advice as to why WMC crashes and secondly why it isn't detecting the satellite tuner now (it is on the same PCI card as the others)? I do appreciate that Windows 10 was never intended to run WMC and this is why I held off upgrading but I really would like to solve this and make it work on both tuners I used previously. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Mousemanmick
I know you were not replying to me but since I posted right above with maximize issues I tried your suggestion anyway. It does not work with my Netflix maximizing issue.
Local Disk Hi , I have windows media center running nicely on windows 10 without any issues apart from the attached screenshot. Is there a way to remove the local disk that shows up under the picture and video library , I don't have this location set in settings but it still shows up (windows media player is fine).
