You need to read the README There is a link

you will need a Windows 10 as host OS
or install (Deployment Tools) from Windows ADK for Windows 10

There is a crashing issue when you watch E-AC3 audio HD channels through HDMI. This problem can be fixed by replacing msmpeg2adec.dll by the one from Windows 8.1.

So my suggestion was to keep a copy of this file in \Windows\ehome directory and add specific registry keys in order to set it as preferred MPEG2 audio decoder. Thus, Windows 10 version of msmpeg2adec.dll is not used; only Windows 8.1 version located in ehome is.

    Hi,

I am going through all these posts, and man, there is quite a lot of information.

    Ok. back to my situation.

I have installed windows 10, updated to the latest version.
Now, I have installed both WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v8.7z and WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0v2.1

    I am getting mixed results.

So, please can anyone help me.

My 7MC setup is the following:

    RecordedTV
TMT 5 (TMT6 has cinavia, TMT 5 is the one that does not support that)
    Emby for Media Center
    VirtualCloneDrive

I wanted to build the same config but here are the issues:

    1) skip during recorded tv or watching movies does not work
    2) TMT 5 works sometimes, when it crashes or freezes, it messes up my tv tuner and the ability to watch live tv
    3) using Emby, an ISO does get mounted, but no playback. Emby faults with errors: no mounting or no program to play bluray.

Can anyone help me how to install what and in what order?

    REgards, Robert

Use a 9600 based version, not a w10 based one. V8 is fine but there is a newer version in development

Use the MS codecs to avoid problem on skipping (aka install the metro dvdplayer)

W8, W8.1 and W10 have the integrated iso mounter not sure if it works with BD isos but it should

    Thanks!
1 more question, TMT5, will it work on the 9600 version correctly? or should I upgrade to TMT6. But then I will need something like AnyDVD to block Cinavia. Any ideas?

    Regards, Robert

I'm just saying that if there is a license file there must be also a license flag, maybe on kernel protected settings.

I was busy with other things and I haven't (yet) compared the policy flags to see if I'm right.

    Edit:

    Just checked.

I was right, there is the license flag on kernel protected settings, and is set to 0

But I was also wrong: that flag is set to zero on WIN8.1 WMC as well.

    So another dead end.

Anyway, now I'm curios to know where that flag is set to 1...:g:

I too read the "README" but when the offline prompt comes up it asks for the offline image path. What is that? I tried using the online installation on a windows 10 host, "you will need a Windows 10 as host OS", and got the same message that SMAEIL2000 got. Not sure where to point the offline uninstaller to clean it up. Can anyone provide a little guidance? Thank you.

Also do these builds work with extenders? I tried installing "WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0" and the Hauppauge tuner worked flawlessly but no EPG and the extender would not work.

Offline means just... offline. Is an option intended to integrate the WMC on the installation media, BEFORE install Win 10, is an option for users who have some skill with the matter or, at least, with google search.

Anyway, in short the install image is inside the source folder of the W10 dvd, to edit it you have to copy it somewhere and mount it with the DISM command on a directory of your choice.

That directory is the image path.

Not yet, not fully, at least.

Why you guys keep to download random things? The link for the correct versions is on post #1, just follow it and download the V8.

The EPG on build 10134 has never worked, even if officially integrated on W10 10134.

If you google "Windows 10 Media Center hack" it brings you to all sorts of out of date blogs and articles that link to the 10134 install. Very few link back to this thread.

    Hi Guys,

    I am stuck!

I have reinstalled windows 10 Pro NL, installed the l9600 v8 version of WMC
After that i installed all other drivers for soundgraph IMON manager and Digital Devies 4 tuner card.
    Shark007 advanced codecs
Then I installed VirualCloneDrive as the internal options for EMBY do not support the native mounting from Windows 10.
I installed TMT5 for Bluray playback

Now the issue is that for some reason I cannot play ISO files. For some reason MCE does not mount them anymore.
Bluray folders play nicely, but in MCE, not in TMT5 what I would expect.

    Please help me.

oh, and the skip option on the remote, still does not work.
