Having used the latest mcl x64 as well as the latest patched wmc version from this thread, I can report that the MCL application only seems to work for adding channel logos. It does not seem to work for changing number of rows in the guide.

Similar tools such as MCE reset toolbox crash with missing file exceptions. If anyone has a patched guide shell dll file patched for more guide rows that could be a solution to this. (also need take ownership batch file)

Coorrect, but MCL still works on customizing the spacing between the channel logo and the channel number or name.

Thanks, fully turning off private networks firewall fixed it. I thought just allowing Media Center in the firewall apps would open it, but it didn't. Only thing not working as Win 7 is changing channels by using the keyboard, only by selecting the channel on the guide.

Is there anything special that needs to be done to get this to work on a Surface Pro 4?

One thing I would do is get the recorded tv folder on a usb 3.0 hdd or on Second Hdd because it adds ware to a ssd plus fulls up fast

I still can't figure why on one PC this works fantastically and the Guide updates periodically just as it should, but on another PC it doesn't. Both were upgraded from 8.1 to 10, both run the same version of WMC found here, both use the same zip code and both even have the same epg file names (as mentioned in this thread to copy them from a known good PC). The only thing I can do is keep deleting the eHome folder then re-run the Live TV setup every two weeks in order to get an updated Guide. If I try running mcupdate.ese manually it say the Guide is already up to date, if I have it set to auto update it says there's errors. Any ideas on how to get this 2nd PC working correctly?

Curious if you are running home or pro on both machines.

Be sure you have the network service on the administrators group, launch the wmc recovery task and rerun the setup.

After that try to launch the mcupdate scheduled task and see from the logs what happens.

I've also tried this a while ago, still doesn't update the Guide like it should. The latest log shows success, even though MC shows I only have 6 days of Guide left.

5:11:55 AM - Testing internet connection.
    5:11:55 AM - Connection established.
    5:11:58 AM - Retrieving Directory.
    5:11:58 AM - Processing Directory.
5:11:58 AM - Processing of Directory is complete.
5:11:58 AM - The MCEClientMaintenance package is already up to date.
    5:11:59 AM - Update successful.
    5:11:59 AM - Next update at 12/2/2015 3:41:46 AM.

Will this WMC will be able to let me watch TV channels? or I need to subscribe somewhere? I am currently residing in UAE.

As long as you have some type of OTA tuner. I see UAE has 72 OTA channels depending on reception.

I upgraded to win 10 pro from v8.1 and then installed WMC version WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v10. I only have OTA TV, 25 channels, and they all work fine with my Hauppauge 2255 dual tuner. My problem--when I schedule programs for recording using the guide, the programs do not record as scheduled. Even though they are in the guide with the red dot, I am able to watch other live TV programs during this same time slot and I do not get a notice that the tuners are in use. However, if I manually select these programs that are scheduled to record, opening up the live TV program, and then click on the red dot at the bottom of the live TV window, the programs both start to record and are available in the recorded TV folder. Any idea why the programs don't automatically record as scheduled? Thanks

mind would not record until I read this in workaround file
To have WMC to wake up for recordings, you may need to make "NETWORK SERVICE" a member of the administrator group
Run lusrmgr.msc, or right-click on Start button and select: Computer Management > Local users & Groups
    then:
Groups > Administrators > Add > "network service" > Check names > OK

I apologize if this has been covered before, I searched for but have not found anything in regards to the sound/speaker setup issue I am having with this WMC for WIN10PRO mod.

I used to have WIN8.1PRO with WMC. I had intended to stay with WIN8.1PRO due to MS dropping WMC support under WIN10 ( :hummer: ).
After I found this WMC for WIN10PRO mod, I decided to give it a try. So I upgraded my WIN8.1PRO with WMC HTPC to WIN10PRO. As expected, during the upgrade, WMC had to be removed.
After the upgrade, I used WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v10 to reinstall WMC. Everything appeared to be working OK.
Due to a TV upgarde (Samsung LN-T5281F > Samsung UN65JS9500) I was also forced to upgrade my video card in my HTPC.
After some research, I decided to go with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB based video card (due to HDMI 2.0 support).
It more or less forced me to do a clean OS install. So after doing a clean WIN10PRO install and then installing WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v10 and running through the WMC setup. It detected my two Happauge 2255 tuner cards and I was able to get all the TV channels setup. However the sound/speaker setup simply skipps to the end and asks if I heard sounds from all the speakers and if not, I should check the cabling or decoder setup.
The audio output is via HDMI > Pioneer receiver > Samsung 4k TV.

Sound works fine from within Windows sound setup. I can configure it as 7.1 and hear all the test tones.
I also installed PowerDVD 15 Ultra and it appears to be working fine as well.
Going back to WMC speaker setup, it simply skips to the end.
    I even tried to reduce the video output resolution from 3840 x 2160 / 60p to 3840 x 2160 / 30p and 1920 x 1080 / 60p (what I used to have with my old Samsung LN-T5281F and Denon AVR-4310CI setup). Did not have an impact.

Currently it defaults to stereo output. I would really like to get surround sound working again.

    Is this a known issue?
    Am I doing something wrong?

I prefer not having to install additional codecs (e.g. Shark007, etc) if I don't have to.

Thanks in advance and keep up the great work on this WMC mod. I'm still furious at MS for cutting such a great program out of their offering.
