At least on v10 most of the install scripts are letter agnostic (%windir%\something). There are few references to c:\ just search and replace them with e:\
Is v9 a DISM version? Did v10 integrate dism into the process? During v9, was the dism a separate installer? If so, would you install the dism, then run v9 or vice versa? Why aren't those files included in v10 when they are in v9? Thanks!
Well, I did this on November 28 and downloaded the latest version of Windows 10 that was available then, using the download tool provided. Whatever version that was, I was unable to use my Windows 7 key, then. Not sure if it's important, but my Windows 7 is an OEM version.
No More or less It's a v8 done via dism installer The pure dism was better suited for offline installation and that's what I did, I cleaned the ISO from the spyware/metro crap then I integrated the WMC, then I did an in place upgrade just to test the process better to ask to abbodi for that, but surely one of the two wasn't working
I don't get what you mean here. Anyway there is a general WMC on w10 thread, better to ask there. Notepad? Notepad++ ?
I have v10 installed and it seemed to be working well including DRM, until I scheduled a test recording to occur (while the system was awake). The recording didn't occur, and after doing some checking, any recording I schedule is not setting a trigger event for the StartRecording task in task scheduler. Any ideas or pointers? Sorry, but I've scrolled through these 270+ thread pages so many times I'm about to loose it...
Oh yes, it's been done and rechecked several times. I've also since found that under "C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\Media Center" the file "StartRecording" is not being updated when a recording is scheduled. My understanding is that if this file is deleted and Media Center is started, the file should be recreated. That's not happening.
In which "services" are you referring? If I schedule a recording from the guide, I get a red ball in the guide listing showing it's scheduled in WMC, but I'm not seeing anything at the system level that indicates an event is scheduled/pending.
Can someone link me to the latest build? I'm not a fan of v8. Just right now, am finally testing it by using the FF (I press it 3x during commercials), and I cannot seem to get the Play button to respond. To stop the Fast Forwarding, I toggle between a window and full screen. I have the problem with both window and full screen modes. I did not have this problem on v2. Edit: I went to the OP and saw the link to v10, I assume this is the correct latest version. What is the correct procedure to uninstall v8 and then install v10?
from your version 8 installer folder right click and run as admin on the testrights and if that works, right click and run as admin on the uninstaller, reboot and then do the same to install the v10, right click run as admin on the testrights, then right click run as admin on the installer
You should see that a pending recording is set in services in: system managment/task scheduler/Microsoft/Windows/Media Center/Start Recording (task) There should be a date and time stamp
As I said above; "any recording I schedule is not setting a trigger event for the StartRecording task in task scheduler". There is no event being scheduled there.
@all About StartRecording task, add Network Service account to administrators group. See Workarounds.txt.
