Using the voice recognition to get the command line is the proof that lately the tech world went totally crazy
My Event Viewer takes too long to populate, and to be honest, I haven't even looked in there for the updatelog. Congratulations, and, Thank-you for sharing your latest masterpiece, abbodi1406.
Everything works great. Recent windows update reset everything but managed to bring it back up. The only thing I still have a problem with is the remote green button does not start media center. I see ehtray.exe is set to run in the registry but does not show up in the tray icon. Could this be the issue? I tried restarting ehtray but it doesn't work? How do I get MCE to start from green button start. This has never worked for me.
Does this patch solve the issue that WMC does not recognize display port as HDCP-compliant when watching copy-once channels from the HD HomeRun Prime? See known limitation at: support DOT microsoft DOT com SLASH en-us SLASH kb SLASH 2392252. It would be great if this could be patched away somehow. Thanks for all efforts! I have been reluctant to upgrade my PCs to Windows 10 since I need WMC on all of them.
Fresh install of W10 Pro, v10 WMC, Drivers and all, using a TBS6284 Quad Tuner PCIe Card, however when I select Live TV it takes several minutes for a picture to appear, does anyone know if a fix. Many thanks for any info or advice. @it
remote green button action to start media center. Really! Didn't know remotes did a double click action. I tried this and it didn't work. Do you have any media center icon in your tray?
The icon is visible only during the recordings and EPG updates. If you want to customize the remote behavior (any remote) on WMC (and/or any other media program) just use eventghost.
Man, one thing I have never done was build a WMC Embedded machine. I might have access to the tools, I need to spend some time on this one...
W8.1 embedded industry pro is practically = to W8.1 pro. So i think it will work w/o any problem. What would be nice to have is a version meant to run on W8 Embedded Standard, just to make a super-light WMC installation. But there are two problems on that. #1 We don't have the W8 patched files. #2 AFAIK there isn't an activation solution for W8 embedded standard, so that would be useful only for MSDN subscriber and few legit users.
This v10 build is pretty sweet. Just thought I would let you know a couple things I've noticed over the past few days. When I power up one of my Ceton Echo Extenders (Echo), WMC wants to set it up. Did a little digging around and noticed that Device Manager has installed the Echo as a Software Device. Network lists Echo as a a Media Device. Event Viewer gave me a couple clues.
WMC Embedded (AKA SetTopBox) was removed from W8 Embedded. So you must use W7 Embedded to get a SetTopBox solution. That super light version you speak of already exists in W7. It removes everything of W7 and just has a barebones WMC installation that auto starts on boot. AKA. A Set top box design.
If it was not removed was pointless to mention it here... As a matter of fact that version isn't so light at all, if you read my old messages in this thread, about my alternate way to get WMC on W10 using the visualization, you can read that I did a lot of experiments, and the stock W8 is lighter than ThinPC/Embedded 7, hence having W8 embedded would be a further improvement in that area.
I checked the windows tray during a recording and there was no icon (red dot) in the tray. I am not asking for any customization of the remote. For e.g. if I click on the start button I want media center to launch if it already hasn't. This was the default behavior. Let me know if other's have this working or if this is a glitch on my system.
Are you using an old version? If so replace ehtray.exe with the one taken from v8 or v10 Well, wanting to have a single click instead of double is a customization. And no. That behavior isn't limited to your system is a known problem according to what I read here.
I seem to be in the same boat with others using WIN 10 and MC I am getting the dreaded system files modified error, and told to do a system restore. I have done several images and restores as well as a test to clone to a bigger drive but went back to original disk. Where is the source for the LATEST MC Fles? I am using version 6.3.9600 Is there a way to completely purge my pc of MC and reinstall it without having to reimage? Thanks!
If a newer version of WMC is available should I install the update? My current version is working OK.
