Not sure if you got the System Files Modified Error for the same reason as I did. What I did to recover was Uninstall TeamViewer, then run the WMC uninstaller and reboot, then TestRights and installer and reboot. Open WMC and run Setup "Custom". I did not have to reinstall LAV nor HDHR tuner software. In my case, I think playing a DRM channel in TeamViewer caused a blowout in WMC. TeamViewer displayed the guide and played a Non DRM channel quite well.
TeamViewer installs a mirror video driver which I suppose can alter "security chain" when playing DRM content.
So after a few days I always get the system files modified error on drm channels. Has anyone been able to get drm working for more than a few days without having to uninstall and then reinstall? This occurs on both my laptop and desktop setup. The other question is why does the putting the system into sleep/hibernate mode fix the no video and audio glitch, however the stream appears to still running in the background.
I just tried TeamViewer again. It ran flawlessly for an hour on a copy freely channel, then I accidentally hit a copy once channel and got sent back to square one. Where would I look (event viewer or elsewhere) for a description of what happened?
I wonder if your problem could be the same as mine when I get hanging issue after few day.For the record I use W8.1 audio codec to play thought HDMI and sometimes Media Center interface stops responding.
Guys can somebody please be so kind as to tell me if any work is currently being done on getting the RDP protocol working so that Xbox 360 extenders can finally be used with this hack? Please, does anyone out there have any info on this?
What is the correct way to uninstall and reinstall Media Center? I wish a virgin setup where even playready components are re-downloaded. Thanks!
Does it make sense when rebuilding Win 10 from scratch to build you image with everything you need on it, save it then another image with Media Center just in case it gets corrupted?
Running Version 10 which seems to work nearly perfectly from what I can tell for both Live terrestrial TV (Uk) and for Emby Classic. Only one minor, tiny niggle and I can't work out what's happened is that when I first tested live TV recordings, each recording had a relevant thumb image in the recorded TV menu. Not sure if/what I changed but now any recordings I do don't have thumb images at all, they still play back fine however. Any thoughts?
I have tried the uninstall file, it never completely eradicates every trace of WMC. I'd like a situation where I can reinstall Playready and see the WMC Product key on the screen as one sees while they are running WMC setup for the very first time.. Thanks!
This one will definitely take you back to the "First Time" %systemroot%\ehome\mcupdate.exe -MediaCenterRecoveryTask I have used it a few times in Win7. Not sure what happens with Win10.
Playeready isn't installed by the package, so you can uninstall it from the control panel. There is always the Windows restore point function if you don't trust the uninstaller. Just make one before installing WMC.
See the previous message. Anyway yes %systemroot% is = to C:\ if C if your system drive. If windows is installed on X: %systemroot% will be X:\
Sorry, I didn't realize you needed all the instructions, and I wasn't sure (until T-S commented) that it would be safe to run on this build. i. Click on start ii. In the search box type in cmd, right click on cmd and select “Run as administrator” iii. Open a command prompt, and run the following command: %systemroot%\ehome\mcupdate.exe -MediaCenterRecoveryTask iv. Close command window, and reboot the computer.
Great instruction, thanks However when I ran it ,l setup showed no tuners though I have an infiniti pcie quad tuner by ceton
You got to install drivers before you run WMC. Drivers..... cetoncorp.com/product-support/ How To Videos..... cetoncorp.com/support/index.php?/News/List Install Tuner Help..... thegreenbutton.tv/forums/viewforum.php?f=68 I hope for your sake you never had network tuners installed prior to upgrading to Win 10. Orphaned/Broken tuner is the result.
Crash 2009, the drivers for my ceton were there prior to the WMC reset, they wouldn't just disappear as they are still listed as installed.
