I will try your suggestions Crash I chose another zip code before, same Cable provider. Windows message says error downloading, downloaded grid populated yet again non premiums and system modified error back
Edit your Hosts file the same as the picture in 2831, flush dns etc. Then run tv setup. When you get to the zip section use 48103. What do you get now?
Hi all, I came to this thread because Windows 10 update removed WMC. I reinstalled WMC again (WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0.zip), Windows 8 codec, however the TV Setup seems to stuck on Downloading TV setup data. Has anyone tried to reinstall WMC and get it to work? Thank you. Peter
When I run WMC setup here on Comcast with the Rovi guide I'm given 2 choices, Comcast Digital Cable and Comcast Digital Cablecard. I have a cablecard device (HDHR Prime) but if I select Comcast Digital Cablecard, I only get ~80 channels. If I select the plain Comcast Digital Cable, I get my 500+ channels including working DRM channels. You might want to check that option if available.
That is an early solution I've found during the early days. It isn't needed anymore if you follow the instructions to add the network service to the administrator group.
Thanks T-S This is a pretty special thing you did with regard to post #2827. Non-protected is no big deal. Playing a protected channel on a device that is not authorized to do so, is pretty sweet. Anything like that is locked down over here. This is similar to the SoftSled idea that never arrived. I am watching Live Protected Starz on my phone right now.
I would like to confirm that I am running Win 10 Home on a laptop with WMC installed and have a full guide after following crashes post #2831. This is with an HDHomeRun Prime and I am on the East coast.
Thanks to you guys AGAIN! Live Protected TV (copy once channel) over WAN to Android phone using (4G LTE) and TeamViewer. Audio works great too. I guess 0x03 is next test. 0x00 - Copy freely 0x01 - Copy No More 0x02 - Copy Once 0x03 - Copy Never 0x04 - Content is Copy Once 0x07 - Content is Copy Never
I was going to try recording and/or streaming a PAY/PPV channel which has a slightly different copy protection. Not sure which class it is, but I know its different. The channels are missing from the HDHR Prime/Win10/WMC_v10 system. The channels are available in my other system CetonTuner/Win7/WMC, and on my CableCo set top box. Normally, I would just use GuideTool and enable the channels, however this would require Net 2.5/3.0 Easy enough to enable Net 2.5/3.0 in Programs and Features. I was wondering if Mr. Abbodi's Net 2.5/3.0 would be better to install rather than the Net 2.5/3.0 available in Win10 Program and Features, and if so, why? EDIT: Cable Co says its a tuner problem. The codes have been sent to my CableCard.
Hi Tiggeroz, Great you got your MC working under win10. The lack of the media centre is the only thing that has stopped me upgrading to win 10 from win 7. (I am using 64 bit win 7) Could you tell me please, which version of the media centre did you use? There seem to be a number of different versions quoted on this forum, but your experience is the only one I have found so far that really matches what I want (or put another way, you cut out all the crap and give good clear instructions). Cheers Brian
