Has anyone had any success making a Windows to go USB with WMC. If so, what is your preferred method?
Tried to install WMC_6.3.9600.16384_dism_x64 it failed error 0x800f0922 my win 10 build is 10586.36. any answers?
If you're trying to manually run the DISM step from v11, you might want to take a look at my post at the top of page 300 in which I explain how to fix this error. I would link to it but the forum still doesn't allow me to post links (sigh...).
I installed TMT6 and got a BSOD named Critical Structure Corruption while playing a DVD (twice) Then I tried WMCv11/Movies/Avatar. The movie played to the end without error. WMCv11 is solid. Usually I break it by now. Does WMCv11 have the ability to play a DVD without the assistance of TMT6 ? If so, I'll uninstall TMT, I thought I needed it.
Why it shouldn't? DVDs were playable on XP MCE since the day one in 2004 or so... TMT should be needed only to play BDs, not DVDs
Thanks I finally upgraded to Windows 10 I have been holding off on upgrading to 10, till I heard that Media Center was working!!! Had some issues getting it to work but finally did. I have a pinnacle 880e usb stick tuner. Guide working good so far on WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v10! V11 would not work for me however. If you cant get one version to work I would suggest trying different versions. A big thanks to the folks who figured out how to get WMC working again!!!!
I forgot. I installed a BR Burner in my last 7 box in 2012. It was a waste of time to play with TMT for an I3 laptop with no BR. On the upside I found my activation numbers. Thanks for the confirmation.
Gota also remember, although a good app for it's day, TMT been discontinued and has not been updated in while. In fact if you want to play all blu-rays, you need ANYDVD HD or something as some newer movies it does not do anything with... I think I used PowerDVD, still has a WMC plugin for it and it is updated...I have not tested on 10 but I do use it on 8.1 and 7...
WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v11 is working 100% great for me thanks when i tested with windows 10. I have that operating all set up and created image. But for now I'm sticking with windows 7 cause everything looks better with the Aero Glass. I don't like the dull colors on windows 10 and couldn't find any aero glass programs that make it look as good as windows 7
Green Button doesn't launch WMC x86 from Desktop problem. Really long thread so apologies if covered elsewhere. Two machines, one on Windows 10 x64 10586 with WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v11 which works without fault - many thanks for all your hard efforts on this the other on Windows 10 x86 10586 with WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x86_v10 where the green button doesn't launch WMC from the desktop. The mouse cursor twitches but no WMC launch. WMC also doesn't respond to Win-Alt-Enter either, though will launch by running ehshell.exe or through the Start Menu shortcut. Might be the install hasn't registered Win-Alt-Enter to WMC ? Not a big problem with the x86 version but wondered if it had been seen before. ehtray.exe is not running in the background even after entering and exiting WMC, and running it manually from a command prompt causes it to exit immediately without error. Anyone seen this on the x86 version ?
I had a update through Windows Update on my computer this morning, after the computer rebooted, WMC is GONE! I checked WU and the update that went though is not even listed. I'm using Windows 10 Pro x64 10586 Anyone else notice anything strange?
There have been a few reports. Did you maybe get nailed with the "Fall Update"? If so, run the uninstaller from the version of WMC that you had, then run TestRights (and all the rest of the install) from the new version (available on Post #1 in this thread) v11 is the latest.
