I'm having a problem with WMC being able to detect my SiliconDust Homerun Prime tuners. I also have Kodi on the same machine, and it is able to detect the tuners without a problem. I have already tried reinstalling WMC and the SiliconDust software. Can anyone suggest some fixes? Also, is there a good technical reason why seemingly only WMC is able to play DRM content?
I am using version 11.7 and almost all is ok. No more dreaded critical system files are missing errors. My problem is if I schedule a recording from within MC or using the Ceton, My Media Center app, the program scheduled to record wont unless MC is already open in Windows. This was never the case in Windows 7 MC Is there a solution? Thanks!
In my opinion there is no technical reason. Its all about money. M$ is the only one that can afford the license. Kodi is probably getting in your way.....Normally WMC is installed before Kodi.
Yeah, you got to add Network Service to localgroup administrators. 1) Open an elevated command prompt and run the following command 2) net localgroup "administrators" "Network Service" /add 3) Hit Enter on the keyboard
Also, although a good encryption should rely on the keys, not on the method/algorithm/whatever, a buggy implementation can expose weakness and unwanted backdoors. So sharing the sources of such implementations isn't seen as a good thing by the OS and Media sharks.
I don't see why Kodi and WMC would conflict with each other. Even after closing Kodi, WMC still cannot find the tuners.
Yes, that's correct. Actually, going into the HDHomeRun Config GUI shows a lot of information about each of the tuners. My problem seems to be with WMC, and it's inability to find my device/tuners. It's not even a Windows issue because the device is found and shown under Network.
No, it seems to be a connection that should have terminated. I'm not sure how to kill the connection.
