I can see 4 tuners with WMC, no problem. Make sure that one of them isn't busy when you do the scan. You can check with the HDHomeRun config or from the webinterface.

Are you sure something like Kodi isn't grabbing a tuner? Or HdHomeRun DVR? I make sure any other devices that may have access to the HdHomeRun tuner are off when I do the initial setup.

This is a HDHomeRun tool that I find very useful. It will monitor your HDHomeRun tuners, real time. Showing updated status(s) and allow for tuner reset as well.

This the newest version of Network Monitor available

It is available from here http(colon slash slash)home(dot)earthlink(dot)net/~warpster/data/HDMonitor_5_7.zip

I have been a member of the Silicon Dust (HDHomeRun) forum for much longer than here.

If you google the phrase "hdmonitor_5_7" it will give you a link to a posting (search the page for the posting by warpster). It give you details of a real time monitor for HdHomeRun turners. Nice tool. Allow you to see multiple tuners side by side with a tuner reset.

    Hope this helps.

Also look for other clients like Kodi, Emby, NextPVR, etc that my be grabbing the channel.

I have been hanging out at TheGreenButton (TGB) since about 2012. I'm new at SD and Emby. I tried out the HDmonitor and like the logging feature. Warpster has helped me out with a thing or two at TGB. I get pretty busy in the summer, must have missed Warpster's announcement.

Whatever had a hold of mine must be sleeping or off....128 hasn't come back to watch tv.

    Scheduled recordings not recorded

    Hi all.

Firstly thank you for those that put this together, WMC not native on W10 was stopping me from upgrading to W10.

So I've upgraded from W7 to W10, installed this hack for WMC to run on W10 and it looks ok. But when I schedule a recording the computer doesn't wake up from sleep to record what I've scheduled and I cannot figure it out! So has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone suggest what it might be?

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it was a permissions based issue but not knowing enough about how WMC works under the covers I wasn't sure where to look.

    Anyway thanks again.

The issue has been acknowledged recently within the last 20-30 pages, might be on the drawing board as we speak. Problem is "if we change this something else breaks"

WMC has been removed from the extinction list. Thanks to the collective effort of MDL. Special Thanks to the BINDER, GRINDER, MINDER, and of course THE COMPILER.

you know who you are. Thanks again!

sorry am totally new here and being a long time WMC user (from XP days) I love that I can get WMC on Windows 10 - absolutely awesome and thanks to all. Reason for post is I couldn't find WMC after the install and re-tried the installation several times with no sign of WMC in the start menu/search after install. I had to go to c:windows/ehome and run ehshell.exe and there was WMC in all its glory - may be worth adding this to the readme or workarounds as it wasn't immediately obvious (to me at least)

I just type in "Windows Media Center" in the Search the web and Windows box. The right click and pick "pin to start".

could you tell us which Version you are on. Click Download Link to All Versions, then Spoiler

This sounds like an X86 problem, or an old version of X64.

When I was testing Version 2.1 there was no WMC icon, the fix for me was to do what you did, and additionally right click ehshell, and create shortcut, copy to desktop and TaskBar.

The most recent Version of X64 (v11) does not have this problem.

New Issue: I added a QAM channel that wasn't seen by WMC scan (89.3 ME TV)

There are no program listings for ME TV under guide.

Is there a way to force it to see any listings for it?

    Thanks!

I just installed v10 x86 on an old Dell laptop (wireiess) and was pleasantly surprised to find it works as well as my v11 x64 installations using HDhomerun Prime, icon on the desktop and all. I am not usually this fortunate which speaks highly of the intelligence and skill of all you folks that wouldn't let WMC die and incidentally helped Microsoft get more acceptance of Windows 10.

My sincere thanks to you all! :worthy: :D

Sorry I didn't see the questions earlier regarding what version of Windows 10 that I installed x86 version of WMC v.10.

Dell Laptop XPS 1530M, early insider build of Windows 10 Pro 1511 updated to latest build 10586.63 running wireless 5Ghz.

    I downloaded this version - WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v11

PC is Windows 10 upgraded from 8.1 64 bit

if I click on spoiler under previous under 64 bit it shows File: WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v10.7z. Sorry but I'm not sure what that is telling me as I've only downloaded V11 from the sticky on the first page as its a new machine 2 days old

Thanks for the suggestion but desktop settings are fine. I've manually added a shortcut to the desktop and pinned it to start and taskbar, so I can access WMC easily but I still don't find windows media centre in start/search. I didn't unblock the file on the first install before unzipping, and had several unzips fail, but since then I've deleted the files, done a system restore, re-downloaded, run uninstall, re-booted etc. etc. several times over so not sure what went wrong but it's working now which I am mightily grateful for.

I copied my music, pictures, movies etc from the W7 WMC PC on the main TV in the lounge today as my new PC (Acer RL85 I3 5010 8gb RAM, 60gb SSD, 2 * 2TB drives) has a raid 1 array so am using it as a small footprint WMC PC in my study, as well as NAS and file backup. W10 FLAC tagging looks unreliable from the slight mess the music looks to be in. Maybe tomorrow's project will be to put WMP tag plus on and switch off W10 native flac on the new PC, or possibly upgrade the W7 PC to W10 with WMC, though it would be catastrophic if WMC stopped working on that machine so am a little unsure on that one

Yes you know who you are, and a big thumbs up!

M$ either didn't think about WMC too much or underestimated the user base of WMC because lack of WMC support in W10 was stopping me from upgrading, I know at least 2 people directly who also is holding off on the upgrade and indirectly from reading the forums there is no shortage of people also that were holding off on the upgrade because lack of WMC support. I wouldn't be surprised at all if M$ either have something up their sleeve, or they change their stance on WMC. I upgraded my W7 system only to register the hardware against windows 10 so down the track after the free upgrade offer expires I wouldn't have any difficulties upgrading, but thought I'd give WMC a crack on W10 while I was in the upgraded state.

Where do I register for update notifications?

    Cheers
