I have mine up and running just never saw the LAV thing and never installed it. I thought it was some kind of DVD decoder. Edit: I looked at both the _Readme and the _workarounds and it is not in ether of those on my system...?
Workaround.txt is where the suggestion is made. For Decoder error x64_v2.1 suggested LAV x64_v10 and v11 suggest Shark007 What version are you using?
Crash, I am using v11 and used v10 before that. The line you quoted is not in my workarounds.txt file anywhere from v11 or v10, mine has Not that it's a big deal, I just don't know where LAV came from so no problems
ha ha ha! All they do is speed up my computer. Other than that, nothing. I suppose I can live with a faster computer!
So, I made the leap to Windows 10 a week ago and just noticed that all of my scheduled recordings (OTA Antenna, 2 Hauppage tuners), were not recording. I played some live TV and hit record and that worked fine. I went ahead and scheduled a recording from the guide, and when I came back to the computer later, I had this message displayed: Recording Error An error was encountered while recording "Modern Family". Error code: -1073478364. I did some searching in the thread and just via Google and couldn't find the error code. Curious if anyone else had experienced a similar issue or had a good suggestion. Signal strength has been fine, channels are loaded, guide listings are fine, no recording conflicts or any of the general issues.
I am extremely satisfied with Windows 10 and the patch to add Media center is working nicely for me apart from adding the Xbox 360 as an extender - which I had under Windows 7 pro. Any workarounds available? Appreciate any help
Default Win10 Pro Release 160113-1800 If this has already been mentioned, I apologize. I tried out the new release and while it seems to have some improvements, it has a big drawback, at least on the one machine I "upgraded" on. I have been running WMC v.11 on this machine and it performs beautifully. So I let the Insider Fast Ring load the latest unpolished build as above. All went well, things look good but for WMC. I reloaded HDHomerun Prime, scanned the 364 channels (lots of music channels) and did the proper installation of WMC v.11. All looked good until setup barely started. The dreaded "No Tuners Found" came up every time I uninstalled, booted and tried re-install. After checking firewall permissions (good), adding NETWORK SERVICE and a few other things with repeated uninstall, install, try, fail and two hours passed I rolled back to build 10586.63 and after installation all is good. I'm unable to figure what happened to block the tuners from WMC when they will play in the HDHomeRun View application. Just information for thought.
Old issue, but I hit a problem with live TV failing with a "The channel may be temporarily off the air..." error message. If you go to the %windir%\ehome directory, you can manually allow all the WMC exe files through your firewall (there are about 10 of them). This got live TV working for me. A few months ago some folks mentioned dropping the firewall all the way to get LiveTV to work. Only allowing WMC through is a little less drastic and seems to work well.
Are there any particular ports that needs to be opened to allow WMC to see my Xbox 360 as an extender or is it just not working in this version: Windows 10 Preview (build 10.0.10134.0)?
Just allow the extender .exe in the ehome directory through your firewall. That should be all that is needed.
