I maintain 4 Windows 8.1 Media Centers, none of them start MC with just one push of the green button, they all require a couple.
I finally installed this on a Surface Pro 4 last night. No issues on the install. Thanks to everyone here. I do have the "Video Driver Does Not Support HDCP" issue. Wasn't there a discussion about resolution?
I don't know if someone here has posted a work-around here, but many "laptops" use Display Port (instead of DVI or HDMI) as the screen interface. While Display Port is capable of doing HDCP, MS never implemented it in WMC.
I don't know. I just minimized WMC and an non encrypted channel started tp play. Then I made it full screen. But when I went to HBO, it wouldn't play. Playready down loaded and installed by itself. I am using 2 Ceton Infinitv 6 ETH tuners. Play Ready did not complete the update properly so I expected HBO not to work yet. I may have to reset my infinitv tuners. Any ideas?
The only known solution to playing DRM channels on displayport PCs is PowerDVD. I have powerDVD ultra 15.0 and it supports DTCP-IP DLNA streaming allowing me to play HBO on displayport. The only problem I get with it is that it passes only stereo for DRM channels. For non-DRM channels DLNA streaming from the HDHomeRun prime, PowerDVD 15 passes the full AC3 multichannel sound to my stereo via optical S/PDIF to my receiver. I reported it as a bug to Cyberlink. I would appreciate it if someone on this forum could try whether multichannel DTCP-IP works using PowerDVD DLNA streaming. I tried it on two different PCs, one with HDMI receiver and TV, and another with optical S/PDIF and DisplayPort screen.
Yes, there is a plug in for WMC. I installed Power DVD 15 on this surface and the plugin is there for WMC. I haven't tried to play a blue ray yet.
Has anyone tried v11 WMC on the current Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14251? I am not subscribed to preview builds but perhaps someone more adventurous has.
Yes, that would preserve settings besides, v12 uninstaller can be used for dism package uninstall, or cleaning leftovers from manual install
