I think you should put yourself at least on the same condition of Graznok, installing at least KB3108669 Anyway, if something is still wrong, please edit the install batch placing some "pause" between the script lines, to see if something goes/went wrong during the install process.
I am in the process of editing Microsoft.MediaCenter.UI.dll (6.1.7601.17514) using HexEdit Version 4 6ebfa 20 00 10 00 00 28 C5 28 00 06 16 FE 01 16 FE 01 Line1 16 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Line2 Looks simple enough, change the 16 cells in Line1 to look like Line2 Save and exit. That was easy enough. I tried to download KB3108669 and install it in Win7. Win7 refused and said the update is for Win8. How should I proceed to get a copy of (ehshell.dll 6.1.7601.19061)? The version on my Win7 box is 6.1.7601.17514
Installed, will try again...thx Edit: Installed update and re-patched, Console, Media Center runs again, and works fine. RDC, it kept my current session open but, when I tried to play live TV, I got an error "Video driver does not support protected content. " but, it was not protected content. Closed WMC window, and when I re-open it, I just get a black screen.
If it's in full screen is "normal" (same as VNC and other remoting SW). It works only if windowed (the buttons on the upper right corner are still functional, even in black screen, you can push them blindly)
Rebooted, tried again, Recorded show played back (no issues besides performance was so, so). Live TV, errors out "Display driver error, The Video play back device does not support playing protected content"....Problem is the content being played is NOT protected, OTA channel. Progress tho, I like it, Thanks
Sweet, very easy Worked perfect and I am beyond happy !.... Last annoyance... Do we know if it's possible to disable the "Your display is running at a very high resolution that may cause performance problems in Windows Media Center" pop up when WMC starts (or re-syncs HDMI, AKA switch ports on a AVR) ? I run my HTPC at 4K (2160p @ 60hz) and every time I start WMC, it gives me a pop up with that message but, if I switch to another device and go back to it (from my AVR) it will pop up again.
A little more than 1 Click, but a helluva lot less clicks than doing it myself. Thanks a Million Guys!
Davids worked, mine did not. Video not supported Video cannot be viewed in Windows Media Center from a Remote Desktop connection.
hello everyone is it the possibility to get Windows Mediacenter working also as extender on the xbox 360 in progress ? I am very interested in it but unfortunately I do not have any knowledge on programming. Thanks
I uninstalled the KB3108669 and re-ran TestRights and 1-Click-Install. Re-Ran WMC Setup from within the RDP Session. I likely will try Setup/Custom later today Got a slightly Different Error.....(Display Driver Error....The video playback device does not support playback of protected content) Minimize/Maximize Non DRM is working. Tried DRM Channel Different Error.....(Subscription Required...You need a subscription to view this channel. Verify that you are subscribed to this channel. If the problem persists contact your TV service provider) (normally this is a CableCard Problem)
I sure appreciate the 1-click-install. Most of us are completely lost in dos, when it requires commands more complex than dir or cd. Thanks again!
First time I installed it was over a RDP session, Nothing happened, I moved to the console, and it worked. Display Driver Error....The video playback device does not support playback of protected content happens on all live TV, Recorded TV, no issues. I had one case where I closed the RDC session and re-connected, video played but, as soon as I re0-opend WMC it no longer played. Only problem is, no Extender at this point (360 extenders time out after this patch)
