what is the command to reset wmc

So, after the last windows 10 update patch from Microsoft my mouse stopped working.

I think last time this happened I reset WMC back to "original" settings, but I can't remember the command.

I don't really want to uninstall / install because it does work from the keyboard with some effort, but mouse navigation is broken

    Anyone?

    thx

I got it to work but can't get extender functionality to work. Installed firewall rules and services but still says it can't find the extender. Has anyone got extenders to work? I'm using xbox 360's as extenders.

Ok, I have found an odd problem and was wondering if anyone else has noticed it or if it's just me :)...

I have a Media Center on a Server setup. I use other clients to point to the shared folder for Recorded TV. I was having issues with names of programs not showing correctly (would just show filename instead of grouping the series etc..). I found out if I run a script and use WTVConverter.exe to convert the WTV files to dvr-ms files, then all is fixed....

Now the strange thing... If I install Windows 10 Build 14316, and then try to use one of the clients to watch on of the converted dvr-ms files, I get a "Copy Protection" error. All my recordings are from OTA programming, and are not encrypted in anyway. I can even play them in Windows Media Player. Just not in WMC.

If I install Windows 10 Build 10586, everything works great.

I am not sure if it's only after I convert them to dvr-ms or if it does it on WTV files as well.

Are we aware of issues playing back files on build 14316? And if so, are there any workarounds that maybe I missed?

What do you mean they ignore each other? What ignores each other? I am not really understanding what you are trying to say :(.

WELL.... when I turned on the Xbox it spun till it gave me the option to "try again", if I simply reset the nic card/or the computer it would connect and work fine.......

Last night, I was up and playing with the nic card settings (but had not actually applied the changes) the Xbox suddenly just connected...
SO... I thought I would test it, I disconnected and reconnected (rebooting Xbox - it auto-starts to mce) right away 3 times in a row with no issues...

IF I disconnected and didn't reconnect for a few mins it would just spin and eventually connect after several mins.

so I timed it... it was 4 mins... it's been consistently 4 mins.
The other thing I noticed is if I use the xbox and turn it off, if I start to reset the computer i get the "someone is connected" message...

There is a connection, just haven't nailed it down yet.
Before someone asks the RDP is set to allow multiple connections per user.

Update : I think I need to play with my 2nd Xbox to make sure it's not the Xbox itself.

Update : SCratch this. 2nd xbox is having no issues connecting.

10586.xxx and WMC work great for me with v12. I have not been able to get HD Homerun Prime tuners recognized in any of the redstone releases (14xxx) series so far.

I have awful stuttering when cloning my screens (2 or more cloned screens). Brand new PC, Intel N3700 chip, Windows 10 64bit. Can someone try connecting second display/TV of the same resolution and try screen cloning? Works fine if it's minimized, but not in full screen.

I want to determine if it has to do with the GPU/driver or actual WMC on W10. Thank you in advance, would really appreciate it. Please report your findings together with PC configuration.

    Good for you!

    But in my case:

Installed 14295 and "updated" to 14313 Pro 64 bit on a clean partition setup on an SSD.

    Installed WMC v12 in 14313

Ran HDPrime setup for tuners, ran complete scan for channels, rebooted.

Ran WMC Express setup which would download Guide update data and populate the Guide but no tuners found.

    Re-installed Prime drivers.

Checked the usual Firewall settings, SSDP Service running, WMC and receiver services running, /OCURDiscovery found three tuners.

Not stated but several reboots were made during the process.

But WMC setup refuses to see the tuners...

It appears that in my case, Redstone is a Millstone. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It's not just WMC on 10, it's been that way since XP. As soon as you go full screen, you get locked out of the other monitor.

As a workaround, you can run the window nearly full, and get away with it.

You can also go the route I did (or something similar).....

I'm just commenting on what you have just said....and have no idea if it will make any difference to the WinVer you are using.

I don't see any mention of the DCA or Playready.

I usually install DCA, LAV, PlayReady, and the tuner drivers PRIOR to even looking at WMC. The links are in my signature. During the install and setup of the tuner drivers, make sure to select the WMC option.

Use WMC/Setup/Custom and setup all steps (including monitor and internet) Custom will take you through ALL steps.

Hope it works for ya....I don't have any other ideas.

Also, you might want to clear out your failed attempts with...

    Code:
    %systemroot%\ehome\mcupdate.exe -MediaCenterRecoveryTask

    Thanks for the reply c2009,

In the early th_ builds I found that neither of my two test machines required any additions other than the net service addition and the Host additions. This has held true for builds up through 10586.218. So far none of the 14xxx have been able to detect the HDPrime tuners. I tried the LAV filters once in early WMC builds but they seemed to cause problems so I unloaded them and things (TV) started working with MS codecs and the tweaks above.

In the 14xxx builds of Win 10 I have done the DCA and Playready pre-installs and various combinations of pre and post installation of the latest Silicondust drivers to no avail. Running "c:\windows\ehome\ehprivjob.exe /OCURDiscovery" identifies the three tuners properly. Strangely enough even though I don't get tuner recognition during setup, I can download and populate the grid of the Guide. I have not found what is blocking the tuner recognition so far. I'm in the process of comparing registry contents for the working and non-working setups on the same machine. If any participant here has a working setup using the HD Homerun Prime tuners and win 10 Pro 64 rs_1 build 14xxx I would be delighted find out what I'm doing wrong or missing a needed entry.

I'm really not sure, with the version you are using. I have had tuner recognition problems with 10586 that were corrected by booting the HDHR. For some reason, all the tuners were busy even though WMC wasn't even installed.

Then there is the Network thing....... Plug the HDHR into the same switch as your HTPC. If it is in a different switch or worse yet plugged in to the router, the hop can prevent your recognition as well.

No that would not work. You CAN access apps directly if you know the entry point for it, I am sure it should be able to be done with the Movie library. Your not accessign the folder, your accessing the program inside media center....

I know where your going and that wont work..

Tried a few things and that didn't work :(
