Afaik there isn't a direct command like ehshell.exe /directmedia:video for movies I think it may be possible knowing the exact entry point. Anyway there is a simpler alternative using eventghost and associating a button with a list of commands (for example I use it to have direct access to various zoom settings) Practically you have just to associate your movies button with 3/4 command in sequence (start mce, down, down, enter), apeing what you would do manually
I found this, it starts up with My Movies: %windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe /entrypoint:{07002340-f744-4df2-a829-969f40f7ab83}\{c820956c-5258-4202-a5bf-466aff76b30b} But what i like is that it opend My Movies also.
Thanks, yes I have seen an instance of the busy lights but long before I started tinkering with WMC. I use Cable modem to router, router to switch and switch to HD Prime box. I still feel that I'm missing a required new permission or reg authorization line. Oh well..
My HP WMC USB receiver with remote doesn't work. W10 x64, using v10 (v12 doesn't start for me). Any ideas?
Yea, have have tried a lot of everything and no go on this one.... Someone needs to find the Entry point for the Movie Library in 7,8 or 10.... The Movie Library was not an orignal part of WMC (vista), it was a addon so I can see why there is no driect run but, if someone was able to find the direct entry point, it mihgt be possable. I might bring this up over at thegreenbutton.tv, someone might of done this in the past...
Hey Guys, I've been following this thread for several months now. Delaying my upgrade to win 10 from 8. I finally decided to give it a go after reading how a majority have had no issues. However, I'm having issues. After running both scripts as administrator i'm getting an installation failure. I've actually tried posting my log several times using code tags but it's so large it keeps failing to post, locks up IE, and I'm forced to reboot. My error code is 0x800f0922. DSIM Operation failed no operation was performed. Since I cannot post the log, does this error give any insight? If not, does anyone willing to help have an email I can send my log to? Thanks, Marshall
I guess I didn't follow it that much. Once a month or so I look at recent threads. I started with the first link in the thread for installation files. There was no mention of installing 8 first. I'm sorry...
Prblems with V12 arent so rare but still affects a minority of the users, I discovered that V8 uninstaller is a good way to sort out such problems. sfc /scannow and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth may help as well, depending on your specific problem.
I got lucky with the v12 install, so I never had to deal with that error. To read about others that did, click the v12 in my signature. For a more targeted explanation of the error, use Search Thread (Not Advanced Search) and type 0x800f0922
I have upgraded 2 good WMC machines running Windows 8.1 w/WMC to Windows 10 with WMC v.11 and had no problems and its working great... this is using a HDHomerun Prime unit. Steps I did: -Windows 8.1 w/WMC (drivers, hdhomerun software already installed, etc.): went ahead and uninstall WMC from under Add/Remove Programs and Rebooted. -Started Upgrade/install of Windows 10 (using en_windows_10_multiple_editions_x64_dvd_6846432.KB3081424 iso on a USB installation media)- during installation it said it still needs do uninstall WMC (?) (so ok do it! and continue upgrade).. keep applications and programs. -Finished upgrade and rebooted / then I run windows updates (whatever was available at the moment), removed useless windows applications that came with W10 / then disabled windows updates and any kind of updates. -Run HDHomerun application to make sure it still see the unit and channels are ok and then I Installed WMC v.11. and Rebooted the PC. -Let windows sit for some time (1/2 hour or so) so Windows WMC do whatever needs to do (update guide, etc).. -Run WMC and now it works great. It has been like this for a month or so.. nice.. It was easy actually.. GREAT job guys! I appreciate all the hard work you guys did...
Since playing with the 143XX preview builds, when using v12, if it doesn't install a second time and SFC /SCANNOW fails, I uninstall.cmd one more time with a reboot, and so far, SFC runs with no errors and v12 will install again. Unfortunately, it still won't find my HD Prime tuners. But I'm still working on the Why?
I was able to get v12 installed finally. The .net fix didn't work. system file check didn't work. DISM didn't work. And then, for some reason today, I did it all again, first renaming the ehome directory, and finally after doing dism steps and then following with file check it installed. Loaded WMC, detected my tuners but failed to detect cablecard (HDhomerun) when scanning channels. However, I thought it might be a drm issue. So I loaded a DVD WMC crashed. I have windvd 11, which worked fine prior to upgrade. So I tried just running windvd from the DE. HDCP issues... Downloaded the bluray compliance utility and sure enough, no HDCP support. I also have the windows DVD player installed which promptly closes right after the "insert dvd" message. I realize this most likely isn't a WMC issue, but I have seen others with HDCP issues and I thought that it might worth an ask here. I've scoured the webs and have only found a few threads on the issue. One was an AMD 15.xx driver issue. None of which I could find that applied to me. Here's what I own. Intel HM77 chipset board AMD HD7800 Here's how i'm using it. HDMI on a brand new Samsung 4k 75", obviously everything worked fine before the upgrade. Here's what I've done to troubleshoot. Deleted AMD driver and related software. Installed a previous version. Consulted the mighty google with various "Windows 10 HDCP issues" searches. I can't find anything to help. Any help would be most appreciated.
I haven't seen HDCP errors since I was trying to run dual monitors out of the same video adapter. So you are saying the driver was working fine prior to the introduction of WMC. Did you run WMC/Setup/Custom? Specifically the part where you setup the monitor.
I honestly don't know. Once windows was upgraded I proceeded to install wmc. No dual monitors here, connected just to the TV. I did not try the custom setup as it's not just wmc with the issue. No dvd playback from windvd. No streaming video, such as hulu.
