Yes sir I did. Other than my v12 install issues previously listed I followed that. When it came to setting up the TV source it was taking a while but still found the tuners. After some time it was not able to find the CableCard, why it asked I don't know but I assumed it was an HDCP issue. Thats when I tried to play a DVD within it. Then tried to play using software from just the desktop. The only suggestion I could find on technet was to use a different software, which suggested the windows DVD player. That crashed too. Frustrated I said, "F it" and decided to watch Hulu for a bit. Got HDCP issues with that as well. That's when I started thinking this wasn't a WMC issure specifically. I suspect the display driver as well, however I've used two versions thus far. The only other thing I'm going to try is what you suggested and see if the default windows driver will pass with HDCP. If that doesn't I'll roll back to 8.1 and try all over again.
I'll try it tonight. I have a Win 7 HTPC based on WMC but, I use WMC on a Win 10 Office machine. I have a USB IR adapater and a remote I used for a while. I'll test it tonight when I get out of work..
You can use any kind of remote, including smartphones, blutooth ot RF remotes and even other PCs, using Eventghost. The native WMC remotes should work as they are w/o any further action, but the Eventghost path is way more productive, being fully customizable and not limited to WMC alone. Eg: you can use a button to toggle between WMC and Kodi or MPC-HC, you can access directly a definite zoom level, you can emulate a mouse or keyboard action and so on.
That makes several of us. Easy installs, even get populated Guide but cannot get HD Prime tuners recognized in any of the 14xxx builds.
WMC works great, but tell me why you are insider if you don't want to check out the build in its entirety? Just use the LTSB, and don't bother with updating.
Who said I'm an insider? I don't mind to be one of them No I don't, sorry for offending your fanboyism. Son, I play with PCs since 1982, be sure I'm able to decide myself what I should install and what not.
Did you guys do something to the codecs in the V12 since it's impossible to set the decoders on Shark007 to anything other than Microsoft's default?
Yep, all firewall permissions in 14xxx are the same as 10586.218. Also tried (briefly) with firewall OFF. No tuners found.
