Did you install that yourself (AC3Filter)? Then yes, remove it. It is probably causing your issues. While researching Freesat, I found this... Go to settings and select "Picture & sound" Scroll to Digital audio out and change to/from "Multi-channel" and/or "Stereo"
In the Freesat setup screens? I can only assume you can access this through your TV somehow as I do not have this functionality.
Have a look at this conversation... https:// hummy.tv/forum/threads/5-1-audio-on-freesat-hd-channels.6357/
thanks but that is a discussion about humax PVRs. Mine is a PC using windows media centre on windows 10.
Well I'm sorry to say, I have reached the extent of which I can assist with something I can not test personally. I am pretty sure that T-S initially, as I, assumed you were trying to get multi-channel file playback working correctly. This is where my codecs shine but it was not what you were seeking help with. I have nothing left to offer when it comes to setting up your Freesat TV through Media Center.
thanks for your time, i will persevere and if/when i find the solution i will post back. appreciate your help though thanks mate.
So, I reinstalled everything again and before I even got through it, I noticed in the command prompt that it shows version 10. Can someone confirm I am not going nuts? Note the folder in the left window that shows v12 and note the version it shows in the command prompt. Thanks. hXXps://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6d8uAN7jL5XUEIyNnVWTld1MlU/view?usp=sharing Sorry, I don't know how to post a pic from google drive and I can't post a url yet since im new so replace the XX with tt
Command prompts give you the version of your windows, and/or the DISM version. properties of WMC files and "about" on WMC itself must show 9600.16384
Ok got it. I did a system restore. Uninstalled everything multiple times, reinstalled Hdhomerun, and got it working. One problem. WMC finds the hdhomerun tuners (two), locates all the channels and sets up fine but when I try and watch one it says service unavailable for all of them. I can pull them up in the hdhomerun app and watch them just fine. Advice?
Anybody have the issue where WMC is automatically removed from the system? I have installed it 3 times now and a few days later it is just gone....
Please forgive me, but I have searched this thread every which way I know but cannot find a solution for my issue: Failure of Uninstaller (CMD window opens and closes so fast you can hardly see it) and failure of TestRights with the same symptom (I think I can just make out the word "cannot" along with some other text before it closes). Background: This machine was upgraded from 8.1 (with WMC) to 10 and previously had V12 running perfectly after a flawless install, but I was forced to perform a "Restore" from the Win10 Settings page, dumping all personal files and starting from scratch. I understood this to be a restoration to a fresh and new Win 10 installation, the current build that is installed is 10586.218. When I first installed V12 (after upgrading to 10 from 8.1) I did not perform the Uninstall, just went to TestRights and Install with no issues. This time that did not work. So I went the Uninstall route with multiple failures, saw the post about Uninstalling twice, no go. Actually, at least three times I have tried: reboot/Uninstall, reboot/Uninstall, reboot/Uninstall, reboot/TestRights to no avail. I also have tried running TestRights multiple times in succession without success. All attempts are "Run as Administrator". Plus many random combinations of rebooting, Uninstall and TestRights. I have searched the drive and found that there are several instances of "ehome" found in file names, mostly in the Windows\WinSxS file. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.
You do execute all the files as administrator? I mean, not logged in as one, but with the right mouse button and choose execute as administrator.
No TV Signal (even though signal good and no weak channels listed) So I had a problem with an Mhegaddin error so I decided to rebuild my system (again). It's much better and close to working I think. Fresh W10 install. v12 of the WMC files installed (thanks for all the hard work). I am using a BlackGold quad terrestrial tuner. Channel scanning all done guide looking good. No weak channels (because I pull the antenna whilst it's working on the weaker frequencies). 4 correct frequencies listed for each channel (and only 4). If I go into the live TV guide after a system re-start or wake-up and select a channel I'll get a No TV Signal error. However if I press up or down channel on the remote it'll happily start playing correctly. If I then go into any channel via the guide it works correctly. So it's just after WMC loads that this problem occurs. I've looked here and on the green button but can't see others with this problem. Any ideas?
