is there a work around to run sfc scannow or dism restorehealth or do you have to completey uninstall wmc ?
My Vaio Tap 21 W10x64 pro has WMC v12 and until about a month ago it was working great. Now it hard freezes when starting to watch live TV (HDHomeRun FIOS). Only thing changed are windows updates (regular not preview) and Intel HD4000 graphics driver update from Windows Update. Everthing freezes and the machine needs a reset when watching live tv. My 4 other machines with WMCv12 do still work great. Any idea how to troubleshoot?
My intel did HD always freeze in HD using the stock drivers (the only available for that card. w/o patching the installer) both in w8.x and w10. I workarounded the problem using the LAV filters (renaming msmpeg2vdec.dll). Curiously enough does not freeze using the Enterprise S see my previous post)
I don't know how to fix that one. My suggestion for you is..... There are two ways to search this thread. 1) is to use Advanced Search, which I believe searches the entire MDL Site. 2) is Search Thread, which searches this thread only. If you type infinitv 4 pcie you will get 49 hits, one of them might have your solution. I would expect the hits from 2016 to be more favorable than 2015. Here is my "Wild Guess" HDCP Problem....How many monitors do you have connected to the WMC PC? One other thing, Go to Ceton and use the Infini drivers for Win8.1
That is curious... Speaker Setup in v12 32 bit is working. What file would we use to try a little transplant?
I did have to install the Shark007 codecs otherwise the speaker test would hang, also recordings wouldn't play with a decoder error.
Hey all, Still following this thread. Now that Extenders are working. Has there been any advancement on this project, or is it done at this point ? Getting video to play over RDP was a big one (although I never got live TV working, only recordedtv) but, still was in a window. I would love to see 1. Getting WMC to run full screen over RDP (like a full screen desktop session). This would be the holy grail of Windows Media Center, AKA Softsled...One of the largest requested features of Media Center EVER (I was in WMC beta in Vista and in Windows 7, a major bug bash winner a few times) 2. 3rd party Exenders 3. Finding a way to get Windows 10 applications fully controllable via a WMC remote. Loved the little hacks for 7 and 8 versions (thanks guys) and seeing it run solid on Windows 10. I wish we could move forward and do things people would dream of. It seems like most of the posts now are troubleshooting because people cant read through the thread a little, as 99% of the questions that are being asked in the last 20 or so pages have been covered MANY TIMES IN THIS THREAD.
Yea this thread needs a FAQ pinned to the top and split into multiple threads or possibly its own sub-forum.
One possible suggestion to deal with this conundrum (if this forum makes it possible). Create a New summary thread for WMC on Windows 10, but make it read only to everyone except a select few of the experts. Only have the experts post on that thread. Start with an initial summary of the installation process and common issues Then every time someone asks something in this thread that requires digging up the answer, post the dug up answer in the new thread and link to it from this one. Like this, the New thread will not get polluted with thousands of similar questions, it will progressively contain only precise solutions to precise problems, formatted by the experts. It will basically become an FAQ thread read only to general public My 2 cents
v2.1 (10.0.10134.v2.1) came from post #639: forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/61061-DISCUSSION-Patch-WMC-to-run-on-Windows-10-final-amp-possible-alternatives/page64?p=1139364&viewfull=1#post1139364 v0 (10.0.10134.0) came from post #492: forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/61061-DISCUSSION-Patch-WMC-to-run-on-Windows-10-final-amp-possible-alternatives/page50?p=1138634&viewfull=1#post1138634
v0 of the Windows 10 based version is still downloadable at that link above (forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/61061-DISCUSSION-Patch-WMC-to-run-on-Windows-10-final-amp-possible-alternatives/page50?p=1138634&viewfull=1#post1138634). v2.1 of the Windows 10 based version is probably also still downloadable on the Wayback Machine (archive.org/web) if you find the correct URL to enter. Yes, some of the version numbers overlapped with the Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 based versions of the WMC that we are using now. Some of the early versions even included a change log if you want more information.
Unsupported Versions of WMC The links for v0 (WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0.zip) at Mega and Files.fm are dead. The link appears to be available at Media Fire which I have never used. Any cautions such as (Mega...Don't Use Download Manager) when using Media Fire?
Dell T-7500 TV Server with 12 CableCard tuners T-S Looking to build a video server, possible might try out some of that server stuff you been working with. Dual 6 core Xenon with 8 gb ram 120 GB SSD for OS Only one GIG NIC at the moment, might add a dual intel if necessary. No storage drives at present Planning build a win10 TV server using WMC as the DVR the server will have... two Ceton Infini6 (12 tuners) Will also be running WMCv12 Kodi Pulse WMC server and either MB3 or Kodi (possibly both) What version of Win10 would you suggest? also what Hard drives? (20-30 TB)
The image you attached is for "WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0_x64_revised.zip", not v0 ("WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0.zip") as you wanted. There is no Media Fire link for "WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0.zip". Look on the bottom of the post #492 under "Spoiler" under "Previous" to find the links for v0 of the Windows 10 based version. The last link to Mirrors appears to be the only working one and it has multiple links to different hosts, the first of which seemed to work. If someone has a web server that they would be willing to share, then we could create a Wiki, similar to the Kodi Wiki (kodi.wiki), with all the information in this forum, including: step by step install instructions with pictures, links to the latest official version and previous versions, release notes and a change log, a list of known issues, FAQs, links to this forum to ask questions... All the contributors to the WMC on Windows 10 from this thread could have access to edit the Wiki. The domain: wmc.wiki is available.
