Does anyone know if the Guide addresses has changed? I had some issues with WMC on Win 8.1 and ended up setting up live tv again. I'm no longer able to download guide data. I remembered that the workaround files in v12 had some tips on how to handle guide data issues but that doesn't work. Not sure if there is some sort of issue with the servers. I remember having the same issue back on Dec 31 which corrected itself. If it's the same thing, it's taking a bit more time to correct itself
I am sure you know this, but just as a reminder for others. When WMC "Steals" the mouse on the second screen, you just need to press the Windows key to get it back on the primary monitor. You will keep control as long as you have at least one window open. if you close all your windows on the primary monitor, the mouse control will go back to WMC and you will need to press the Windows key again to get it back. While you have gained back the control of the mouse, and use it on the primary monitor, the user of Media Center can still use the media controls with the remote like Play, pause, FFW RWD Skip... But they cannot navigate the interface as this is connected to the mouse actions. To momentarily give back navigation control to the person watching WMC just click on the Media center icon on the task bar, that will give them back full control. When they are done or are in playback mode again, just press the windows key again, and you get the mouse control back on the primary monitor. So you can work on the primary monitor while WMC is full screen and being watched on a second monitor.
Yes I know, but the little utility is way more handy, and has way less drawbacks. Just try it to appreciate the difference... The only missing thing is the close button, but you have the close menu in the systray, the close button on the main WMC menu, and you can use simply alt+f4. So really not a biggie.
I am curious about how it handles the navigation on WMC. Once WMC is not the active window, any navigation command from the remote no longer applies to WMC. Is the utility somehow able to intercept remote commands and reallocate them to the WMC window?
It does in a handy way what I did with my custom links and registry settings. The full screen mode is not the real full screen mode. Is just the wmc launched with the nochorme mode (no decorations), and sized exactly as the screen where WMC is displayed (you can choose that in the utility setting). And for the command you don't need the utility. Eventghost is what you need, then you can do whatever you like with any remote (including another PC or a smartphone), any input device, to command WMC, any other multimedia program (kodi, mediaportal, MPC-HC) and any other task that requires an input from "somewhere" Anyway the utility has its own shortcuts, so combining both of them you can really do whatever you like (no matter if the program you want to control are in focus or not and if they are running or not.
I am getting lots of assembly related errors when installing programs from .msi that install .NET assemblies. sfc /scannow shows no errors and restorehealth thing didn't change anything either. Is it possible that there's an updated package for build 10586.318 ? I think the assemblies are messed up. I was checking the .msi files for programs I wanted to install with orca.exe and playing with gacutil and found no errors. Today after 4 days I found out that uninstalling WMC helps. I want to keep this cool program
Just did a fresh install of Win 10 Pro x64 on my HTPC. Spent hours trying to figure out why I was getting content protection/driver errors when trying to run the DCA and view LiveTV. Turns out having WMC and Hyper V running on the same machine was the culprit. Any workaround to making it work?
I had problems with HV enabled on WHS-2011 (black screen instead of video on WMC). Something of understandable given WHS doesn't come either with WMC and Hyper-V) I was able to fix it either using the LAV codecs instead of the MS ones (but I guess that is not a viable solution for DRMd channels) or using the basic MS display driver instead of the proprietary driver (ATI HD4200 in my case), it works pretty well with some VGAs, but is useless on some others.
Just let windows update again and these steps fixed (disconnected after 10 minutes like my previous issue) Xbox extenders without any other changes afterwards. After updates: Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3149135) and Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3163018) I'm now on build 10586.420 with extenders working.
> I am having build .318 (see enclosure): can I get Xbox extender to work by doing the actions above? Or is something else needed?
Now updated to build .420. Works OK, but trying to connect to Xbox 360 extender computer "hangs" at third step: "configuration of extender", complete reboot necessary.
