There are a lot of steps to get the extender working check post #3969 by crash2009 for meluvalli steps. Gareth North also had steps that I used to get mine working. You still need all those steps to get the initial config, the last part I showed was just how to keep it running after the updates break it. Sorry I can't post the direct links, but a search should get you there
Hey Crash, have you gotten anywhere with 3rd party Extenders ? I picked up a DMA2100 that I am using with Win7, Over wi-fi it works worlds better than a 360 over wi-fi (in a room that would be PIA to run a network cable). Thinking about doing 10 on my HTPC but, this would hold me back, as I got the DMA2100 for the wife and I am sure you know how the WAF goes.... :-\ Of Course, if we got RDP working over full screen, I would grab a $30 Rasberry PI and use that (that is how 3rd party Extenders work anyway)
So I am having this issue after the suggested fix from post #3950...Everything is working it connects and runs for 5-10 mins and then I lose the connection. I have done the RDPwrapper and replaced the two files in the v12 installer paths as stated... what am I doing wrong...???
Hi there, I followed your instructions and installed v12 and other softwares. But the hdhomeprime setup says " 0 tuners found". Wmc says "the tv signal cannot be configured because a TV tuner was not detected". Please help. Thanks

Ok I am new to the WMC on win 10 stuff. what is the log file you need and I will provide it. Is it the DISM log??? Thanks for your help...I am a newbie to the forum but I have read a lot of the 499 pages...lol
I'm talking about "Event Viewer" hit the windows key to bring up the start menu and start typing you'll see it in search results, look for any error messages from the time the extender disconnected. I think your fix will be this though:
That did it!!! I had that in the bin folder already... I guess it didn't run it correctly on the install yesterday. So now I have WMC v12 working on Windows 10 and with two Xbox 360 extenders!!! Thanks!!!
Check out the Readme.txt in the WMC install folder. Review the "Preparation" Section. Also check out Workaround.txt Create a new folder C:\WMC\WMC_V12 DoubleClick the zip Extract to C:\WMC\WMC_V12 Try again.
Disable "The publisher could not be verified. are you sure you want to run this software" prompt. run gpedit.msc Go to “User Configuration” > “Administrative Templates” > “Windows Components” > “Attachment Manager“. Open the “Inclusion list for moderate risk file types” setting. Set the policy to “Enabled“, then add .exe to the “Specify moderate risk extensions” box then click on OK. Now you will never get that prompt when ehtray.exe is launched. Thanks too Google in finding this.
Just unblock the zip before unpacking and installing it. There is no point on lowering the security of the system just because you forgot an obvious step.
No reports on the DMA so far. It appears The mighty Graznok has met his match. I don't mean that in a bad way, it appears DMA has been impossible.................so far. Go get a sledgehammer and a long drill bit.... WAF will top the charts. PowerLine or MoCA will still require CAT5e back to the switch.
Extender Error Open Notepad++ and add the NtRights and icacls command to line 79......is supposed to repair the disconnect after 5-10 minutes error. EDIT....I just noticed you fixed it....Congratulations.
The weird thing is that I did have that in the installer file. I guess it didn't run correctly and did not show me that on the command prompt during the install. So FYI if you still have the issue with it dropping every 10 mins... Manually run those two commands from the _testrights.cmd Hope that helps everyone. Thanks!
