Sorry, why do you think I made troll like comments? If that's how you took it, I didn't mean it to come off that way. I couldn't see how to get to post 5001 so I thought you meant page 501 since there were instructions there as well. Definitely wasn't trying to offend etc. UPDATE: I just noticed the post numbers on the top right and saw that the post you were referring to is the one on page 501 as well. Sorry for the confusion. Though I do think I need to get older drivers to get the service back.
andy, I'm running current latest released drivers (hdhomerun_windows_20150826) on Win 10 Pro OS Build 10586.420 and I show both HD Homerun Record and HD Homerun Service. WMC v.11 or v.12 work very well on this setup. It appears the redstone builds will give us trouble finding the tuners FWIW.
Did you by chance upgrade to Windows 10 or clean install? The only way I could get the service to appear was to install the old drivers from the main drivers page at Silicon Dust (unable to link due to low post count). And then I was able to install the latest with the service still running. WMC finds the tuner now but having issues with downloading TV data. I know there are some comments with workarounds but I also had this same issue last weekend with my main HTPC and regardless of what changes I made it did not start working again till that Monday. I'm going to wait it out for now
Initial 8.0_8.1_to I believe 10240. Then clean install with initial 10586.iso issued on insider slow lane and updated to 10586.420. I've had no problems with HDHR3-CC tuners being recognized in any of these builds as long as I did a reboot after the driver installation. Still have not gotten tuner recognition with any of the 14XXX builds. I presume you have made the changes documented elsewhere here to add addresses to your Host file?
Ok thanks. Not sure why it was an issue for me then As for the host file changes, I have and I made one of the changes earlier and didn't work. I lost two hours last weekend trying to get the guide data to download again on my main HTPC which is on Windows 8.1 still. Anything I did then refused to work. Other people were reporting the same issues and I ended up waiting it out. The following day without any changes to the host file I got a connection. It was some outage. I'm going to assume it's the same today and will try again tomorrow. If I can get this working on Windows 10, I'll like switch over to Schedules Direct
I've used display fusion for ages, likely is a better program overall but doesn't have this nice side effect on wmc
OK got you. I've been using DisplayFusion with the Maxifier for years. Got DisplayFusion for cheap on one of the Steam sales. I have 16x9, so no difference for me.
Anyway I think it's wort a try. Sometimes are the small details like the one mentioned above that makes the difference, and are so subtle details that aren't even advertised by the SW publisher.

If you are referring to a question I asked a while back, it was not about if sfc /scannow would destroy the files but about the fact that sfc /scannow would always fail on WMC files (like in your log) because it does not know where to find the source file for WMC.
@scrambler3, OK I didn't understand well. But in fact these are good news, since with previous versions (ie v8 to v11), sfc /scannow restored the original non-patched files, and made WMC non functional. So the workaround with v12 to preserve the files seems to be successfull.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great father's day; I had a good one. crash2009 - your recommendations have been spot on. So I installed WMC v12 and got that up and running, I got my HDHomeRunPrime up and running, and that works fine and the three tuners detect the channels. I also ran the following code in a command prompt as directed by post #5001: %windir%\ehome\ehPrivJob.exe /OCURDiscovery After running the code, I got the exact same output as the image file in that same post. However, WMC is still not detecting my tuners, which are being detected by the HDHomeRunPrime. Does anyone have any suggestions?
is the installation package corrupted? I've attempted to uncompress version 12 and version 11 (x64) using 7zip programs. In every case they begin to extract the files but never complete the process. It always ends up with a data corruption message.
7zip is ok. Probably you have a corrupted download for some reason. Use Jdownloader to download it or another browser.
