In Win7, I always had problems running DVI and HDMI to dual monitors. Display Driver Error and HDCP Error. Then I really complicated things adding an amp. I ended up going to the HDMI 4X4 Matrix Splitter, and have never looked back. Most people use a simple HDMI Splitter. Win10 to 3 way Splitter, splitter out1 to office Dell, splitter out2 to amp, and splitter out3 to the other monitor. All HDMI...forget the DVI. Passing through the amp was unreliable for me. T-S's suggestion of using Actual Multiple Monitors might help also.
I've had zero issues with the amp on Win 7. Wondering if it has to do with RDP rapper? I don't use WMC much on my office pc, so I could love with it but would prefer a fix.
Maybe your first idea was best. Win7 must have had a better driver that eliminated the problems you have right now. that gives you 3-4 choices, I cant think of any more, ATM. See what Newfiend (yes "FIEND") at TGB has to say about the drivers and the errors for your Nvida. EDIT..... one more, but I am not sure if it is relevant. We used LAV in v10 for decoder Error.
Okay, so I troubleshot some more and got somewhere. I turned off my TV in the living room and it clears up the problem. So, it seems like it has something to do with the dual monitors being on. Any ideas? (other than purchasing an HDMI switcher) Thanks for all your help! p.s. I noticed when switching from windowed to full screen with the other monitor on, it takes longer to switch than when my TV is off.
AMM main feature is to ease the use of MM setups, so obviously yes. The fixes about WMC comes as a bonus, maybe an unintented bonus. Anyway no settings are needed. Set it as you like If WMC still flickers windowize it and then go back to FS. That said as any other utility, it's just an utility, you aren't going to marry it. Just install, try if it works and, if not, the uninstall button is there since w95...
I hope I can be forgiven for this, after days of digging through this massive thread. I cannot seem to find anyone having the same issue as me. I have a fresh and updated install of win10. It was an upgrade from win7 (my win7 install will no longer boot, so I ended up just deleting partitions and starting over), but decided to just wipe, delete partitions and install fresh win 10. It is build 10586.420, Home version. When I try and follow the instructions in the readme for WMC v12 the only command that leaves a command prompt up is "backuprestoresettings". There is nothing for it to backup so it just tells me no files present. The uninstaller, testrights, and installer flash a command window at me and it disappears. The instructions said to try a few times, then reboot, try again. I have done that several times with no change in results. I have seen other people mention specific error codes, but I cant find anything to point me in the direction of a solution. Again, sorry if I am asking something that has already been answered.
Okay, wasn't really digging AMM. I did some digging, anyway to make WMC start in Windowed Fullscreen Borderless? Or does that have to be AMM?
did you right click those commands and choose run as administrator? Only thing I can think of unless you can get some error messages. maybe open an admin command prompt and call the scripts from there so you can see the text before it closes.
Are you trying it or you are still guessing? As I said you have to do nothing of special. In the worst scenario windowize WMC and go FS again. If you want to use the fake FS option just use "the maximizer"
Can evaluate the possibility of writing "the maximizer" in the google search field? Come on guys, there is a difference between helping and spooning!
Hello, Thanks for your suggestions. I already remapped the Green Button by modifying the corresponding registry key, now it shows the Welcome Screen, I can then select the WMC shortcut. I also remapped some unused buttons to control programs by modfying the same registry key. But for the OK button, it's a different story, and as T-S said, the best way to make it show the miniguide is to patch WMC or use EventGhost. I have already set up EventGhost to do the job, but it's not as convenient as if WMC was patched. I wonder if there is someone on earth who find it useful to switch to the previous channel by pressing the OK button, all the set-top boxes use the OK button to show the channel list.
