I did right click and run as admin. I just tried running from a elevated command prompt and am getting 'bin\NSudoC.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Now, either I am missing an extra command to type in, but it seems to run a file all I would need to do is type <c:\wmc64\_testrights.cmd> right? Please say I am just missing some little dumb thing. I tried the same line on the installer and uninstaller with the same response.
Mike- could you provide the steps you did to get the Xbox 360 extender to work? Are you referring to post #3950 and post #? ( GarretNorth´s)? If yes, I might need help to understand what all the abbrevations mean/stands for... Akki
I'm still waiting for you to read Post 5175, which deals directly with the Display Adapter error. Maybe you should go back a few pages and review all the suggestions you have been given. Editing is allowed here, sometimes things are added, after you review the original post.
On both the you tubes, watch the scrolling text at the bottom. To me, Video 1 hard to miss. Video 2 still shows the problem a bit. There is a less pronounced stall in video 2 about once/second. EDIT The 3rd video isn't right either. Scrolling right to left text is chugging, same as the other 2...might even be worse.
For those testing the insider builds, what tuners work with v12? Are any of the cablecard tuners working?
Can you also confirm you extracted the full zip contents to that wmc64 folder? it seems like the \bin\ subfolder isn't there for it to run that command. Also, you show x64 are you on a 64bit OS?
I decided to go with Schedules Direct instead since I'm having issues downloading the TV setup data. Now running into an issue with Digital Cable Advisor - it keeps saying that the app is invalid and refuses to install. Anyone know how to fix the issue?
I'll take a Wild Guess that you are looking for the WMC software since this is your first post. Next time click on the Reply With Quote so we know what you are talking about. If you are looking for the latest version of WMC click on the v12 in my signature. Read the Readme, especially the PREPARATION section. Also the Workaround. And when you follow the v12 link read the first 30-40 pages for others experience installing v12
Lets stop the guessing games. What is the Model # of the remote? What is the Model # of the set-top box the remote was intended to be used for? Personally, I think you need a new remote. A remote with choice of devices. The button for device A would control WMC. The button for device B would control the set-top-box(s)
OK, so I have narrowed it down a bit more: I changed Duplicate display to extend display and before doing the setup, I checked WMC on my plasma AND Dell and both were flawless (minus minimize/maximize bug for display adapter error...I think?) No chugging, perfect operation. I did the setup, said no changes took place (settings are 1080p 60hz). When reverting back to duplicate display, and both monitors are on, is when WMC acts up. One thing I've noticed is it takes longer than usual (2-3 seconds) to switch between fs and windowed mode. This is the strangest behavior. I can live with it since most of my TV watching is on the extenders anyway, but it would be nice to figure out why it is doing it since it was perfectly fine on my Windows 7.
Setup wmc on the LG using extended. Make the LG the "Primary". Use AMM to have both monitors used as "Primary" Do not be dragging the windows back and forth. How in the world do you change channels on that thing? Run back and forth from the office to the L Room. Clone is not the way to go. Install My Media Center (MMC) on your phone or tablet, to change the channels. Install EMBY server (or similar) for the Office Monitor and watch TV through your browser. Regarding the perfectly fine on Win7, that means nothing. Win7 uses a different version of Microsoft WMC than Win8.1 and Win10. There are a few other things that were zapped by MS...Here are a couple examples. Always on top, 3rd party extenders, and possibly TWO WMC's in a cloned display.
