First, thank you for taking the time to help. I appreciate it.
I don't know where to find a full file list, but the 7-zip extractor says it worked. I count 77 files in the wmc64 folder (not counting folders, just files). I am indeed running 64bit OS, win10 64bit pro. This whole thing seems odd, as there is a bin folder, but as I was counting files I do not see a NSudoC.exe anywhere. I would assume if that's the file the script command is referencing then no wonder it isn't working as there is no file by that name. I downloaded from the link in Crash2009's signature for v12.

Edit: I misspoke, a little, about the version of windows. The box I am trying to install on is Home, not pro. However I have the same behavior on my main system which is pro. Don't know if that matters.

There is only supposed to be 7 files in the WMC64 folder

Nsudo is in the Bin folder.

Sounds like I have a bad set of files. The wmc64 folder contains 6 files and the bin folder. The bin folder has 12 files, 2 folders. No Nsudo. Ill download again and see if something weird happened to that last download.

Ok, well thanks for getting me to check the file lists. The problem was quite simple. The software I grabbed to open the 7zip was only unpacking about half the files then reporting complete. When I tried to unpack it a second time it had a different set of files available in the BIN folder. So I got a different unpacker and all of a sudden I have the nsudoc.exe available, and then the installer worked. Hope the rest of the installation goes well. Thanks again ImCoKeMaN and Crash2009.

Thanks God for that. I was about to call The Exorcist.

    Do yourself a favor...download WinRAR

Create a set of folders C:\WMC\WMCv12

Read the readme in the wmc64 folder. Follow the directions starting with the PREPARATION section

    Unblock the v12.7z file

Open the v12.7z with WinRar and extract to the folder C:\WMC\WMCv12

If you have trouble with one of the steps...STOP RIGHT THERE.

Ask for help here and wait for an answer.

I typically use the extender for the living room lol.

I sometimes play games from steam on living room and will jut switch to HDMI 7 on my Yamaha. Works like a charm. Also, I am into emulation and will game on the big screen running cloned monitor. I prefer cloned because it is less hassle.

I appreciate all the help and suggestions but I think I'll just keep it as is. If I want to watch tv on Dell in office, I'll just do so in windowed mode (OR fullscreen if the living room tv is off) :)

Why grab a random archiver when 7zip is good and free?

The short answer? I saw a program called 7zip opener, and mistook it for the real 7zip program.

So far so good, this time WMC installed without issue. Ran through custom setup and its working. Though I am trying to find your instructions here for getting extenders to work, as I think I missed a step to get that part to work. Its not end of world, as I have been trying to move away from the xbox360 as an extender and with HBO the only channel I have copy protection on I can just use their streaming services. I already have KODI working on a Intel compute stick in the bedroom. Will probably just get another one of those and replace the 360 entirely. Though it would be nice to be able to use it for a couple more months as I cant justify even another $150 to get another compute stick at the moment.

    Again, thanks.

Anyway you can use WMC as the Kodi backend, trough DVBlink and/or ServerWMC.

Hence you can have the best of both worlds w/o having to choose which program to use, at least for anything but the CC protected channels

Yep! I had it setup like that before my win7 box decided to murder its hard drive. That's what prompted all this. Just got ServerWMC up, and tested (local) kodi client. So far so good. The big draw for me was in my bedroom. We bought a house almost a year ago, and removed all the interior walls and rebuilt the layout. (I am a general contractor, remodeler specific) Now my bedroom TV is wall mounted a couple inches off the ceiling, with a power, coax, and cat6e port hidden behind it. So the compute sticks are great for keeping that just the TV and soundbar, I have the stick velcroed to the back of the TV. I was still using an x360 in the living room, even though the x1 has taken over all other duties. I really wish Kodi was available on the x1. Ill pick up another stick in a month or two and plug it into the HDMI IN on the x1.

Of course, I seem to be lucky, in the NW the only channels that are currently copy protected are the premium ones like HBO. I really hope that doesn't change, I hate giving Comcast hardware rental fees for their garbage boxes. I like having 8T of recording space!!!

    Could you edit the first post to include the instructions, inc trouble shooting;
links to posts for the latest download (already done) or include a direct download link
links to posts for setting up extenders
    ect ect.
That way newcomers can be pointed to the first post and then ask for assistance if needed

Anyone know what could be the issue? I'm using a HDHomerun Prime - View works so seems more like a Windows 10 issue. I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling old / new prime drivers but nothing does the trick

I sent Rick a couple links for Xbox Meluvalli and Xbox GarethNorth

Curious name you have there, my "off the wall" sense of humor reads the name 2 ways... Which way is correct? Bi Gal or Big Al.

Because, like many of us tech nerds, I get obsessive with trying to fix things. Figuring out why it worked before and no longer does. Wondering if there was some setting somewhere that was messing me up. Ideally, would like it to work like it did before, that's all :)
