WMC won't find hdhomerun prime tuners

I did a fresh win 10 install one one computer and an upgrade on another. One is win10 home and the other is professional. I can get wmc to open and run setup but it does not detect my tuner (hdhomerun prime). The tuner is live as the hdhomerun view client works. I've tried versions 8, 10 and 12.

Thanks for the link but I should have been more clear. WMC won't detect my hdhomerun prime so I can't watch live tv. The hdhomerun view app works. The WMC versions I have tried are versions 8, 10 and 12.

 

Which Win 10? TH1, TH2 or RS1? Not sure it works on the latter.

 

Not sure about the abbreviations but just upgraded last night. I see version 1511.

 

It's TH2 then.

So it should work, read backwards the thread. I think crash 2009 has explained that twice a week.

 

Ok, thanks. 563 pages is a lot to look over but I'll review crash 2009 posts. I'm having some luck with an upgrade but not the clean install.

Given I read all the post I can see that in 99.9% of the cases that's what happen. Just statistics.

another windows is opened but immediatly closed so that I cannot execute uninstaller in the other window

 

my system is Windows 10 x64
WMC version is Windows 8.1 (of course) Version 6.3.9600.16384

 

Wich version of testright?

If you're trying the one from v12 or v8.6, try to use the one from v8 (or viceversa).

Your system must have something that blocks the superelevated prompt (maybe some antivirus). V8 uses a different way to get it, so if one fails the other can work, depending on your configuration.

have they read all the instructions Y/N
what version of mce they have installed 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 12 ect ect
upgrade path clean, from win7, from win8, 8.1
win 10 build/ver
hardware, what tv tuners
driver version
ota, cable, satellite
country

You see... You dint' even bothered to read the post 1...

V6 is old like a T Rex. Use V12 or v8.6 , my statistics still works...
