I did read that. I am probably the only one that did, as I had to resurrect the suggestion and create some interest in it. I took a pass on that xyexplorer due to the cost, yeah I know, likely has a 30 day trial. Doesn't TakeOwnership do the same thing?
guess I've been drunk for a week where are files included in the package from a 10586 build ? please no rock throwing
I downloaded the link you gave me.... Win7_grabfiles was the only grabber inside the package. It is programmed to grab 17 files from each folder. Only 13 of the 17 are found in 10586
#1 there is a free version and a demo of it, both of them are more than enough to the purpose. #2 That was just an example, use whatever you want other than windows explorer. starting from the command line to any decent filemanager. No is not. #1 taking the ownership is boring, even with the shell extension it requires one additional action (a couple of mouse clicks) per file. If you have to replace a single file that's irrelevant, but with a bunch of them... #2 even not taking #1 in account, is not the same thing. Take ownership changes the ownership from Trusted Installer and gives the rights to the files so also normal users or administrators can manage them, a program launched from the testrights prompt runs as Trusted Installer, so can manage practically any file which is forbidden to users and administrators, w/o touching its permissions. More elegant, faster and no added security risks.
No they aren't. I shared it to use them as a list of the files you need to extract from the wim (or copy from a working installation) of win 10586
We do, and we appreciate your dedication to WMC, as well as your assistance to prevent it from ending up in the scrap pile.
Some other files missing from 14393, drmmgrtn.dll, drmv2clt.dll & blackbox.dll. These are all DRM related. This would seem to support crash2009's suggestion that the PBDA package is broken.
Windows 10 Upgrade-- Need Help Installing Windows Media Center--error: 0x800f0922 I have recently upgraded to Windows 10. I held off because of Windows 10's failure to include Windows Media Center. But due to the expiration of the free installation and having discovered your install of Windows Media Center for Windows 10 (WMC_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v12), I took the plunge last Sunday (7.24.16) and upgraded one of my desktop computers that I use in my entertainment center. With that computer, the installation of your workaround for Windows Media Center installed and worked. It took numerous times unsuccessfully running the installer before it successfully completed, but it did successfully complete and run. I then went to upgrade my personal desktop, which is a newer and more powerful version of the same Dell desktop upgraded in my entertainment center, discussed above. The upgrade installation of Windows 10 worked fine, but I have been unsuccessful with installing your Windows Media Center. The installer would launch and go through its installation process, but end up being unsuccessful and rolling back the installation. Thereafter, each time I activated as an administrator, the installer would launch, proceed with the installation over a minute or so, unsuccessfully complete and revert back and I get error: 0x800f0922. It would then refer me to logs and tell me that I could reboot and try again. I did try to reinstall again every day and periodically throughout the day, including today hoping that one of the installations would be successful as had occurred with the other desktop, but alas no luck. I am sorry for such a long post, I wanted to try to explain what occurred in hopes that someone may have a fix. I am reaching out to whomever might assist me in successfully installing Windows Media Center in Windows 10. Thank you for reading and whatever assistance you can provide.
I didn't mean to imply it was broken, I meant to say, It needs an adjustment. Here is an example open the Grabber in ServerBDA using notepad++ Any file can be added to the list...blackbox, drmmgrtn, and drm2clt were added to 10586_grabfiles Any thing else you want added? As an Insider, Windows Update installed OS Build 14393.5 over Build 10586.494, which promptly nuked and uninstalled V12 WMC which was working flawlessly on Windows 10 Pro x64 beforehand. After several failed attempts to re-install V12 I switched to WMC V8.6 (and missed reading the bit about the green and blue dll swap, d'oh). It also nuked my Avast and Classic Shell until I installed updated versions (the Beta in Classic Shell's case). Okay. It works good, but here are a few glitches I noticed for comment or future versions. 1) The OS update winds your tv card driver updates back to MS defaults, so make sure you re-install the latest working drivers you had from before the update. 2) WTVConverter no longer works and has vanished from the context menu too. 3) Playing DVDs/Blu-rays using PowerDVD16 interferes with scheduled recordings = they just DON'T record until you exit PowerDVD. 4) This may just be me but if I group my recordings by title they are sorted by episode title rather than record date within that grouping. (this might be me missing something obvious, so feel free to point out my dumbness). (ETA Yes, it was my dumbness. Ignore point 4) (Hope this info helps, I read through the whole thread first to make sure I wasn't repeating anybody else's post.)
A Compro E750 dual dvbt that fits snugly into a PCIEx1 slot, had it for a few years now. (and my working driver is "SKNET MVX3 BDA DEVICE")** **Switched now to VMS800_E750_1.05.520_WLH.exe driver to troubleshoot scheduled recordings problem.
You're gonna feel silly. After you sort by title and drill down into a series, just above the list of recordings you'll see the sort options "date recorded", "title" and "original air date".
